Scenario: I have noticed that say around 98% of my meets are with people who don't use the forums (a couple have slipped through who do) as it's my preference....however

I've recently been told that this is "double standards" as I use them.....

Question: Is it really double standards??

Coz people like to throw "double standards" about in an effort to make the person feel guilty/ashamed/bad in any way or reconsider their choices.

Heaven forbid they saw it as what someone else prefers to do for their own reasons and bitching about it gets them nowhere.

I see no double standards… I chat to many on the forums, some I would like to meet, some I wouldn’t… Who you meet is up to you, How you use the forums is also up to you. The two things can be completely separate

Yep, that's definitely true.

I can see why the other person would cry "double standards" to a certain degree (not saying they are right) but honestly - there is a lot more drama around forum users. There are members who exist out of the forum who are decent humans and know how to have sex. I don't blame you OP.

'A double standard is the application of different sets of principles for situations that are, in principle, the same.'

I am presuming the 'double standard' is you are treating forum users differently to non-forum users. But because all users are on Fab they should all be given equal consideration.

I'm not saying it is a double standard. I'm just trying to work out the possible logic behind the stated double standard.

The treating differently would be not giving forum users an oppurtunity to meet you based on whatever criteria you use to meet non-forum users.

But by that logic you could say a straight man has double standards by meeting only women and not affording the same consideration to men.

Exactly this. A is not equal to B.so.people.need to stop acting like it is.

Weird you should use the fish analogy though. We where litteraly just discussing about how it's getting on these forums and I acctually said to.my wife " I'll eat cod but wont touch shellfish but in their eyes, theyd make out your a hypocrite or worse, your persecuting the shellfish". That is litterally the point its getting to.

I'd like to say the mods should step up their game but everyone is entitled to their own opinions, no matter how ridiculous they are.

A lot of people really need to take a step back on these forums and think about what they are saying. It isnt all about them and their wants and needs.

"Scenario: I have noticed that say around 98% of my meets are with people who don't use the forums (a couple have slipped through who do) as it's my preference....however

I've recently been told that this is "double standards" as I use them.....

Question: Is it really double standards??"

That’s all type of strange !? What’s the issue with you shooting the shit on here and meeting new people ?

You get a glimpse of what people are really like on the threads as opposed to just hitting someone up cause they look good

"No it's not. You do who you want to do, forum user or not.

Did you say something negative about forum users? Maybe that's what makes the person think it's double standard.

I just said that there seems to be less drama revolving around non forum users than ones who do as some people can get a bit touchy if you get overly friendly with a fellow forum poster. I don't need nor want to court any drama. I've been there and done it x"

Understand this completely. You meet someone off the forum, someone else could have their eye on him or her, people get jealous people start messaging people shit. It can be drama.

Exactly this. I don't mind having a laugh and joke with people on the forum but as you say 'jealously' rears it's head and I just think "fuck it" I'm not being dragged into a unneccesary bitch fight...you can have him

That makes no sense

I have a feeling whoever said that doesn't understand what that means.

In all of my time on Fab (coming and going) I've not met anyone through the forums.

I've created online friendships through the forum but only had meets with none forum posters.

I'm not sure how double standards come into it

Maybe just a desperate attempt to sway your choice.

The few people I’ve met from here had never really heard of the Forum. That surprised me.

Perhaps the non Forum users have it right. They are all for meeting and having super sexy fun while we debate and put the world to rights. Or at least try to.

Your body, your rules. Anyone calling you out for "double standards" is probably just jealous because you won't hump them.
