His wife was there, how fucking awful for her, I don’t know if they have kids. Hope he’s okay.

They did seem to stop the CPR and what looked like defibrillation fairly quickly although carried on working on him. I think that seems a positive thing

It just puts it in perspective- players get abused left right and centre , they get booed by idiots cause they take the knee, we all scream at opposing teams, football brings us together but when a great player as Eriksen is has this happen to him, we have to just put it aside and think and pray for him and his family |

why does it seem worse? both could have died. in fact Fabrice was apparently 'dead' for 73 minutes.
lets hope that the outcome for this player is as good as it was for Fabrice. it seems positive that he is stable now. |

Watching it unfold and watching horrified, the guy didn’t look good before the cameras panned away. It’s spoilt the day and as for the delayed tournament ? What’s the point if the worst has happened. How would the two teams carry on after that.
I haven’t supported any of the teams he’s played for but as a football fan I appreciate his skill and standing as a great player. Sad scenes from the parken. |

Reminds me of Benfica player Miklos Ferrer who suddenly collapsed on the pitch mid game. I was watching it live on tv and was stunned.

They should have done really but they're all waiting for news/a recovery/keeping fans posted etc....the lads in the BBC studio were just shell shocked and it cut off very soon after....they didn't know what else to say/do....
As a long suffering spurs fan, Eriksen has a special place, he was at the heart and soul of everything good under Poch's reign
Wishing him and his family and fans all the best |

"Rumours going round now that he had a heart attack on the pitch

Not necessarily. Modern defibs (AEDs) also monitor cardiac rhythm and are used as a diagnostic tool. |

London/Essex... ish... Romford to be exact |
Thinking back to the live footage, I didn't think there was enough urgency to get Christian medical attention. I saw that a Danish teammate was berating the match official and the medics seemed to be trundling at a casual pace when you'd expect them to be sprinting. Luckily this happened St a high profile game with the facilities to deal with the situation. I imagine that at a Sunday league game they'd have none of that. |

I share your hope that he recovers well. Defibs actually stop the heart, not start it. Fibrillation is when the heart's SA node fires erratically and doesn't allow the chambers of the heart to fill and empty normally. A defib stops that and the heart should naturally revert to normal sinus rhythm, or extra stimulation (CPR) is needed. It's extremely rare for this to happen on an otherwise healthy human with no other cardiac history. |

First off all. I watched it live as it happened. I am going to watch england tomorrow. Seeing a player collapse, given cpr, and obviously have a defib is something I will never want to witness in real time again
Regardless of the day someone has or does not have people need to be kind. Watching this has me stunned as my dad was similar 10 years ago.
My initial thoughts are I doubt he will play football again however the fact that any underlying heart issue may be now identified and should keep him alive for many years to come |

That chap happened to be one of the countries leading cardiologist, right time right place angels were protecting Muamba that day. And the Medics today along with the quick thinking danish team captain also need some recognition. |

I wonder if postponing the game would have meant their minds would have been dwelling on it even more.
We can wonder if it's right or wrong to resume tonight, the players appear to have decided.
Personally I think it's very brave of them.
