Without blowing smoke, who do you admire?
Not because you think they’re attractive or because you want to get into their pants, but because you admire who they are, how they handle adversity or for the things that they deal with on a day to day basis.
This isn’t a popularity contest, just a shout out to those who you admire for the people that they are, in whatever form that is and why |

People who don’t seek validation or approval, they have enough self confidence and belief in themselves and what they are doing. Who plough their own furrow without bending to societies conventions and the status quo, those that hold firm when the zeitgeist demands the opposite. |

Honestly. So many different people for different reasons, some unique to them.
But in some of those people despite admiring some qualities there are those that I can't take to, that part of them just does not vibe with me - be it dislike, disagreement, or just not my style. |

There are a few forum women who have shown me that even though we face challenges it's possible to rise again. These women have been a sorce of strength for me. And I'm so grateful to them.

You don’t need to get on with people to admire them, they’re two very different things. I do think that some people conflate the two though, or maybe it’s those that we get close to, that we learn their troubles and so learn to admire |

There are people who have had to handle adversity that have done so without sharing on the forum or with people of fab via messaging quite what they are going through.
For many using fab can be a distraction from the adversities that they are experiencing in their personal lives.
I would not welcome anyone nominating or shouting out on a forum thread about my adversities that I may have shared via DM. Sorry but that's my personal viewpoint.

Without getting too soppy, I think we all go through things in our personal life that get us down but we all keep going. Even when we feel like it's all falling apart we still get up the next day and keep pushing through.
I chat to lots of people on here that have gone through, or are going through, so much but keep smiling. They really are an inspiration xx |

That’s fair enough.
I did think a similar thing when writing the OP, that not everyone knows what folks in here go through and not everyone talks openly about issues or even about their lives.
It’s not only about that though, people can be admired for any reason.
I do recognise that not everyone uses fab in the same way or for the same reasons, so for some, no one knows what they go through or what they achieve |

I wear kiddie gloves coz I'm child sized, I know I'm blunt but there are times where explaining something softly, concisely and with patience works far better than a verbal barbed wire trimmed baseball bat to the chops.
Learning people helps. Same as with everything different people respond better to different approaches. |

That's what I'm getting at, sorry. Maybe could have worded it differently to be clear.
I'm saying I admire some people for certain qualities but in those same people I do, for lack of a better word, dislike them for some qualities.
Despite not getting on with them, or not taking to them I do actually still admire them for some part. Which is why I could not make a shortlist because there is no shortlist. |

For the people that have written lists, can I ask what it is about these people that you admire?
I think that the temptation is to just list friends but this is a different thing. Of course you can admire friends but those that you admire might not happen to be friends.
Just writing a list of people is only half of it, as always the important bit is in the ‘why?’ |

I agree with this.
I'm no stranger to not shying away from rustling a few jimmies even if it is an unpopular opinion or turns people against me, but you can say the same thing, and make the same point while still being harsh and blunt.
I'm fine if people don't like me, or my way of doing things, but that doesn't mean I can't attempt to be civil and adjust slightly to cater to how others prefer a softer approach.
The issue is when softly directly conflicts or hinders the point being made, or to downplay things.
Different situations and different approaches work best on different people. Neither extreme is perceived well or helps the cause. |

Gonna leave loads of people out now unintentionally, don’t like these kind of threads cos you always end up missing people out.
Off the top of my head then the peachiest of princesses cos I know she wears her heart up her arse(she’s kinky like that) gone through a world of shit and come out the other side.
Gemini man cos he is always firm but fair. So is chillout. I always look for their input when I have a thread that requires advice.
Got Nora cos she’s kind, Meli because she’s one of the few I can take any kind of criticism from because I know it comes from a good place, Aphrodite. I’ve left loads of people out, that’s why I don’t like these threads.  |

The only other person would be busty belle. She has a very positive outlook and I imagine hanging out with her would involve a lot of smiles.

Nora for her pure honesty and not being afraid to be unpopular if it means being true to herself.
I also agree with whoever said Quuen Leviosa. She'd been through so much and was such a strong lady. She was also brutally and honestly herself. I hope she's doing good. |

The only people I admire are people I know in real life and not for superficial reasons...my kids for various reasons, adversity, strength and determination... proof you can achieve your goals
My boss, she is incredible. Owner of five businesses, always positive, always motivates, and always looking for the next thing. Nothing will stop her |

I'm still fairly new to these forums and more on the periphery lurking in the shadows that involved, but I've gotta say that it's a brilliant place to be. I enjoy seeing the community and hope to ease into it a bit more over time; it's amazing how one can still be socially awkward even over social media!
