Any horror film fans here?
What’s your favourite horror film?
What was the last good horror movie you watched that you would recommend to people?
For me Halloween is my favourite horror movie and Daughters of Darkness is the last really good horror movie I saw last. |

Felt like they managed to put out something fresh with The Conjuring, but then got greedy trying to franchise it which is a shame.
I'm a bit controversial in that I actually really liked the classic horror remakes over the past several years. Evil Dead and Halloween (the Rob Zombie one) especially! |

Grew up on horror novels and films. Most of my favourites will be the 'classics' from the '80s -
Evil Dead II, Poltergeist, The Thing, Hellraiser, The Fly, Near Dark, Demons, Bad Taste, Meet The Feebles, Children of the Corn and Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer.
Martyrs, Audition, Tetsuo: The Iron Man, Ringu and Tremors are worth a look and the original of The Haunting.
More recent I would reccomend The Conjuring series, Sinister and the first Saw. |

Add in Carrie and Romero's Living Dead series. |

Recent(ish) films that I love -
The Witch and Midsommar. I watched Relic a few nights ago and thought it was perfectly eerie without being explicitly scary. Oh and Train to Busan is truly amazing and everyone should watch it. |

Forgot about Train to Busan. I'll add in The Host as well. |

Yes! The Host is so good on every level. I can't remember the name of the anthology, something to do with extremes but it featured one possibly titled Dumplings? That's incredible but slightly grim. |

I'm not gonna watch as I'm about to eat. But I'm guessing the splinter of door wood in the eyeball. |

Just looked it up Three...Extremes. And there is a film of Dumplings which rings a bell but can't recall if I've seen it.
Teeth (the vagina dentata one) and Raw are very good as well. |

If you don't mind a bit of tentacle sex then check out the Urotsukidoji anime films. |

On the theme of horror is anyone watching van helsing TV series?
Unfortunately the current and concluding season has been poor. I think the budget was whatever loose change the show runners had in their pockets at the time. Shame as the narrative is engaging. |

I still like going back to watch 'Nightmare on Elm Street': the later films lost the plot a bit, but the first three got me hooked. |

Love Japanese horror films although I then don't trust my TV or any other portal for evil to enter through for a few days.
Never really been that fussed by stuff like Friday the 13th, hellraiser etc as just seem a bit too predictable.
Oh and loved the first 2 final destination films, still won't drive behind a lorry if it's transporting logs! |

I love that scene. I actually remember when I first watched that. I can remember next to bugger all else about the film. |

Ah ha! You’re referring to Lucio Fulci’s classic, Zombi 2 aka Zombie Flesh Eaters as it was released here in the UK starring our very own Ian McCulluch (not to be confused with the singer) battling the risen dead on a tropical island.
An absolute classic in the zombie genre

I loved the premise of the franchise with their artefact room. And then all the stories branching off from there. First one was the best though.
You know I've never seen near dark. I always save it for my halloweenathon but then never get round to it. I will this year though as it's always highly rated. |

And also in Zombie Holocaust aka Doctor Butcher MD: Medical Deviate
I watched an interview with him and he came across as a particularly charming fellow.
He was actually a member of the esteemed Royal Shakespeare Company and appeared to be going places in the acting industry….at least that was until he appeared in the three notorious Italian horror films, Zombi 2, Contamination and the aforementioned Zombie Holocaust whereupon by his own admission, the film roles completely dried up, relegating him to small roles on TV and in adverts |

I like horror and can recommend playing a horror game in VR if you like to be scared. Something like Resident Evil 7 is truly frightening in places. So immersive. |

I loved playing the delightfully scary Project Zero aka Fatal Frame games back on the PS2.
I so wish they’d re-release them in the PS Now store or perhaps remaster them for the current console generation/s but alas! It seems unlikely now |
