"Just curious...
And Warhammer players/painters here?"
Dabbled when I was younger. I prefer the novels and games these days as my painting skills are dog shit!
The Space Wolf, Grey Knights, Horus Heresy, Ultramarines, Eisenhorn and Gaunts Ghosts series were excellent.

I'm playing total war: warhammer 2 as we speak
My painted high elf army is still upstairs in boxes.
And I had started painting a blood angle army when I lost interest. That was about 20 years ago. |

My brother used to do this when we were kids.
I used to take some and paint them pink/girlie outfits and then add them back into his army when he wasn’t looking |

Never got into the models but I love the novels. Just reading one now about Inquisitior Revenor.
Such a pity the PC games never interested me outside total war but even that got old fast. |

Never did that, but then I've never played DnD or similar either.

Hobbyist from 1992 to 2007. Still have a bit of stuff, and dip into the original 1995 Warhammer Quest whenever the right friends are in town. Always harboured dreams of doing a proper Necromunda campaign, but that's beyond my social skills. |

Far beyond me too - my lads play 40K and so far I'm top of our league table - just as it should be. Age beats youthful exuberance. |

WFRP was great, full of atmosphere. I started roleplaying again a couple.of years ago. It's just D&D 5e good fun but a lack of real substance |

Played a little and painted when I was younger sadly life got in the way, used to paint ultra marines. More of a d&d geek to be honest but haven't had a chance to play a decent campaign for years now |

"Try looking for Astartes on YouTube. It's an amazing series mad by one guy "
It's incredible - it seems GW is taking over the rights for these in their new service (Warhammer+) but I'm still hazy on the details.
There are loads of really great animators doing Warhammer stuff right now. |

Played in my teens. Got back into it during lockdown.
We both play Necromunda. I’m Van Saar and she is - naturally - Escher.
On top of that: Adepta Soroitas.
Honestly missed the savage absurdity of the 40K universe. It’s good to see fellow nerds here. |

I’ve a heap of Warhammer figures from years ago in the house with no use for them. Tried talking to Games Workshop about moving them on to someone who would use them and they had zero interest in helping out. What do you do with 2nd hand ones? |

You can sell both painted and unpainted. If they're well painted, someone might want to buy a ready made army. If not well painted, they can be stripped and redone. Unpainted obviously easy enough to sell cheaper than GW are asking! |

"I’ve a heap of Warhammer figures from years ago in the house with no use for them. Tried talking to Games Workshop about moving them on to someone who would use them and they had zero interest in helping out. What do you do with 2nd hand ones?
GW only want to sell new models
Are they painted? You can sell online. Mr KC sold quite a lot......
They are, ooh I’ll have a more in depth look for buyers. I’ve so much Gorkamorka too and books for both
You can sell both painted and unpainted. If they're well painted, someone might want to buy a ready made army. If not well painted, they can be stripped and redone. Unpainted obviously easy enough to sell cheaper than GW are asking!
Yeah we’re painted by me when I was a kid. I don’t need to double check them to know they are quite badly done! Thank you though!
You'll shift em quickly on the auction sites, whatever condition they're in. If you know what you have, check the sold prices first don't accept lowball offers, then.
Fairly sure the WH stuff is mainly Space Marines and Eldar. Some lead characters in there’s too so I’ll make sure I can get something decent for those ones
Best of luck - if in doubt see if you have an independent gaming store nearby (you should do) and have a word
I think GW was my only relatively local option I’ll try the other options mentioned though
More than likely a local Facebook group, could be worth messaging?
Oh good plan! Urgh it does mean having to use Facebook though
I take it 'model shop + your town' brought up nothing on Google?"
Nah my town is just charity shops and take aways |

"Used to be big into in my early teens, but have recently got back into it — it’s mainly about the paining as it’s a really relaxing activity "
It's a great escape and lets you focus on something other than the world |

"I still have my full compliment of Rainbow Warriors, not played it since the rogue trader rules got scrapped.
Awesome.
I'm sure it's changed loads, I only started playing 8th edition."
I stopped playing when a pistol could take out a dreadnought or vehicle, they made the game stupid. That is progress though.
Also the players that got a bit nmsarky with you for creating your own chapter, there are over a 1000 chapters does everyone know them all. |

I paint. But don’t play warhammer. So, this is what disappoints me with games workshop now, My ttrp with dnd is fantasy and games workshop just doesn’t cater for that anymore |

"I've finally started painting and playing Nightvault.
Took N a while to get me into but I am loving it! "
I love the idea of access to usable small warbands with lovely sculpts; I'm yet to play a game though - does it play quickly? |

Yeah easily play 2/3 games in an evening cheap, great entry into the hobby as a board game but some of the rules could be written better |
