Who is/ was the best frontperson or entertainer of all time? Jagger? Bowie? Tina Turner etc?

For me it has to be Freddie Mercury although I never saw them live.

Live Aid was pretty special.

Secret hideaway in the pennines

Have to agree, one of the few frontmen that could hold a stadium full of people in the palm of his hand, brilliant showman, I very much doubt we will see the likes of him again

Freddie for me

I could list lots of other notable mentions: Dave Lee Roth, Ozzy and Ian Gillan etc

Best I've seen live is probably Nick Cave. Swaggering and packed with energy - really works an audience like some maniacal black-clad preacher

Ladies wise and I’ve got to give a shout out to Pink. She always puts on a great (and often potentially dangerous!) show

Jimi Hendrix for me

Agree with a previous comment that Nick Cave doesn’t get the credit he deserves at lighting up a crowd. Watch any Glastonbury performance and you see a master at work

Freddie is likely to take the top spot in most people's opinion. But to hijack this a little, who else are great front men/women who deserve honourable mentions who don't always get one? Ricky Ross of Deacon Blue has always been great. Huey Lewis was always very entertaining and had a good line in banter with the audience. Any other suggestions?

Completely agree - mesmerising presence.

The one that surprised me was Kevin Rowland. Not that knowledgable on Dexy’s MR, but when I saw him at a festival he had great stage presence.

Recently - Aldous Harding. Can’t believe how transfixed I was by her, especially given how quiet and intimate her songs are.

Mick Jagger is the best I’ve seen although I can’t deny that Robbie Williams is a great showman.

I’m actually watching Bohemian Rhapsody right now, Freddy Mercury was the best frontman ever.
