Secret hideaway in the pennines

The original was totally brilliant, typical 70s headfuck movie

Edinburgh

Cult classic folk horror. Brilliant film and Christopher Lee is excellent (as usual)

I remember an interview with Edward Woodward about that film. He recalled that during the scene he's carried to the wicker Man itself he was saying, off-mic out the corner of his mouth, to the huge, burly Scotsman "You won't drop me, will you?" and being told "Ah'll no' drop yer, Eddie-Boy..."

King's Crustacean

The original was believable and scary - I've always been a fan. Never bothered with the remake. Why would I ? I know what happens

Somewhere In The Ether…

The original, absolutely yes.

The ‘Not the bees!!!’ remake…..Er, no (but Nicolas Cage’s overacting was legendary!)

The original was great but freaked me out.

Proof that giving in isn't always bad though

Yes to the original. Britt doing her slappy dance, sexy and eerie.

I once helped a coven of witches do a wicker burning, I did feel a bit sorry for the guy in the wicker effigy at the time, he looked very scared until the flames and smoke took over.......joking. your faces.

I think it made such a huge impact as it didn't go down the happy ending route.

I'm still trying to work out what the point of hiring Britt eckland was, as she had a body double for the nude dancing and had her singing dubbed as well.

"Just like all the Dracula films

Same as The Omen

Sure, the effects were arguably better in the remake but it had absolutely no atmosphere whatsoever

Classic.....the ending was so scary to me,when he was in the wicker man and trying to explain to the cult followers that the fruit won't grow regardless how many you people you sacrifice year after year....the smiles and the singing they were doing showed they were brainwashed, and it didn't matter what Edward Woodward said.
