Pork pie.
Not the cheap stuff though.
I want it in 15mm slices, crisp on the crust, consistent jelly surrounding a moist meaty middle.
Non of that Melton Mowbray shite! |

"Oooo tough one between Indian and Chinese buffet snacks very tasty
Onion bhajis, pakoras, samosas
Mini ribs, spring rolls ... "
I do love spring rolls! Though the best Indian starters are steamed wantons and you need to get those from a proper Chinese! |

Have you seen those buffet boards thingys OP?
Basically one of those with all the cheeses and some nice french stick and dippy oils. And grapes! Black sable grapes.
Or goats cheese and red pepper mini rolls (kind of like sausage, minus the sausage).
Or mini halloumi fritters.
I love a good buffet! But a good one, not one with beige delights in. I do like those sorts but I bloat like a heffalump after.

Egg works for me.
Not much else though.
Why dabble with something so good! |

"Proper homemade sausage rolls.. none of the frozen party ones.
Then cheese platter with nice homemade chutney.
Oooftt now you're talking! What's your favourite chutney? I think mine is plum. "
I like a spiced tomato chilli chutney to add a bit of kick! |

"What's your favourite?
I think mine is indian snacks. Onion bhajis and vegetable samosas with mango chutney!"
Ahh, open buffets, much like Birthday cakes with candles, both most probably a thing of the past
Yes, Indian bits, bhajis, pakora, samosas with a good raita dip closely followed by pork pies with brown sauce |

Yes with a ham and cheesy bit in the middle are they only over here "
It's entirely possible it's just me being oblivious to their existence . |

I'm kind of glad about the candles thing. Especially at kids parties. I want that cake but without a dose of kid saliva! |

"Oooft what about the charcuterie board "
That’s always a good addition to a buffet!
We’ve gone proper posh nowadays, no curled up triangle egg & cress or coronation chicken sandwiches anymore
|

Change the vegatable for Lamb Samosas, and add a chilli sauce dip and you have my vote |
