For me my heart will always belong to Southend Utd no matter what depths they drop to and now my local team and a newer love of fifteen years is the not so mighty La Berrichonne de Chateauroux who are also about to drop out of the pro league.

It’s about your childhood team innit? My Grandad took me to my first game and even though I’ve moved miles away for work and college, once you’ve made your team choice you can never change!

That’s a discussion I’ve had many a time with friends, usually whilst drinking. What are the right reasons to support a team?
- your local club
- family connection
- idol player
Unfortunately far too many ‘supporters’ are glory supporters who cherry picked their team.
Got a work colleague who sits in the Kop, he doesn’t consider all the tourists / ones who travel 100+ miles and have only been like 1, 2 games genuine fans.
But this discussion can open up a big can of worms and different views |

Sadly I am always have been and always will be a Bury fan! Don't know if I'll ever get to watch my team again due to what's happened with us, I do have a huge soft spot for Rangers though. |
