I'm thinking of posting a thread... But what kind of thread shall I make? Cheeky? Serious? Deliberately obtuse? The possibilities are endless... (Also the word obtuse is awesome)

What are your favourite kinds of thread? What makes you think 'oh yes, I'm definitely commenting on this...'

Meta threads like these will always have me posting about my opinions - my favourite topic of conversation.

I like navel gazing ones that offer an insight into how others minds work. I like the absurd comedic ones a la Princess Peach and any she does (in particular the Agony Aunt ones). Food ones are good for giving me inspiration, also music for my playlists.

I like most threads but for the most part avoid snog/marry, favourite pic above, the ones where it's clearly a conversation between two/three people and you feel like you're intruding.

It's funny isn't it, that in the game snog/marry/avoid... You avoid the game itself. That's really profound

True, I think there is a place for those threads though. It's easy for newcomers to contribute to which can ease them in and hopefully contribute more regularly. It certainly helped for me

Bareback stuff is always a winner.

I love those ones best when loads of people post saying how stupid it is and then a fit bird or couple post saying it’s fantastic and they only fuck bareback then suddenly it’s perfectly acceptable.

Also nothing that includes the word snuggle. It makes me cringe

While a good thread needs a hook from the OP, it's the ensuing discussion that often determines whether it's interesting enough to comment on.

Some topics obviously lend themselves better than others but even unpromising ones can be elevated by the comments people make. Equally, good debates can be derailed by crass or abusive comments.

Repeat above steps as you see fit

Something that’s going to be interesting, a discussion or something that’s going to be fun where lots take part and doesn’t just cater to a few people, to the detriment of the occasional posters.

One of those would be great.
