Cake.

Yes, let’s talk about cake. And not argue about politics or the Royal Family or hairdos or whatever.

So.... What’s your fave?

I was going to say Banoffee Pie, but that’s not a cake is it? That’s a pie. It even says so in it’s name.

So while I think about what my favourite cake is, let us all know what yours is...

Cake. Mmmmm

. Ooh yeah! The cream makes it doesn’t it? I might even go large with some clotted cream. A big dollop!

Almost with you, I’d keep the icing but ditch the marzipan.

I'm rather partial to carrot cake, or raspberry and almond cake.

I also had some Bailey's cheesecake the other night which was rather delicious.

Apart from the Godlike thing that is Cheesecake - praise be! - I do love a good old fashioned Victoria Spounge.

So simple to make to (which is great if like me, you can’t cook or bake for shit)

The nicest cake I ever had was Licorice cake. I only ever found it once. I went looking for it at a Licorice festival years later and they didn’t have any.

Did someone mention cake?

I made a Victoria sponge this afternoon and I need to make a red velvet birthday cake later in the week for my daughter's birthday. Tomorrow it will be banana bread I think.

Entirely depends on my mood. Can be gooey chocolate cake, a tangy lemon drizzle with brittle icing or sometimes I get a real hankering for an iced sponge cake like you have on your birthday. A good carrot cake with the cream cheese icing is good too.

I do like a red velvet or carrot cake...

Not a big fan of buttercream

Also, just plain sponge with fresh strawberries and cream!

Basically, anything as long as it's moist!
