I've been to loads of amazing gigs as I've been working through my bucket list of bands to see live such as AC/DC, Metallica, Guns n Roses, Motorhead, Rammstein, Alice Cooper etc
The Rolling Stones a couple of years ago is up there with the best though, it was a hot summer day, I had VIP tickets so was right at the front, and it was just a proper party atmosphere. They were on for hours and it was just excellent. Richard Ashcroft as the support act was good as well. |

Three ‘standouts’ :
Bowie at the MK dome
Roger Waters at Earls Court
Bocelli - teatro de silencio , outside at his home town.
The best though - for personal reasons was Steve Harley at the Albert Hall - my first visit there. |

"Gerry cinnamon or Richard Ashcroft
I saw Ashcroft at the 02 - fantastic!
I didn’t realise he never made money from Bittersweet symphony due to a copyright issue with the Rolling Stones."
He sampled their stuff without asking. |

There and to the left a bit |
No way I could pick just one - but top 5 in no particular order...
Madness - Madstock, Finsbury Park - 8th August 1992 - their first gig in 6 years and helped cause an actual earthquake
Muse - Etihad Stadium - June 2014 - Simply awesome show - so much more than a "gig"
Green Day - Hyde Park - July 2017 - absolutely brilliant, blew the proverbial roof off (even though it was in a park and there wasn't one!!)
The Beat - Hammersmith Odeon - October 1982 - one of the support bands (Aztec Camera!!) threw a strop and walked off so the headliner played a longer set to make up for it and were brilliant
Biffy Clyro - Belfast SSC - November 2016 - wasn't much of a fan before seeing them in Dublin the night before - this gig confirmed just how good they are live |

He'd just got the rights back when he performed it

I was at that foos gig as well, first time I saw them
Also couldn't believe how underwhelming manic Street Preachers were after the last time I saw them and they were brilliant |

I saw U2 in the very early 80s after just releasing their first single, was Lancaster University and cost £5.00 a ticket. That was before Bono became a politician like many other once great artists. |

We did Sonisphere at Knebworth for hubby’s 30th.
Rammstein, Maiden, Metallica headlines, but saw some great great acts. Dropkick Murphys, Europe, Motley Crue, Babymetal, Airbourne, Anthrax, Chas and Dave (weird).
We saw Riverdance live as a wedding present, front row which was fantastic.
Foofighters at Wembley where Jimmy Page and JP Jones made guest appearances.
And followed Frank Turner all over the country. He’s amazing live |

James - I’ve seen them 4 times and they’ve been incredible every time. You go through every emotion watching them.
Robyn - Bristol O2 Academy 2010. So much energy. I was on a high for weeks after that gig |

Honestly if you ever do get the chance to see them, jump at it. They’re supposed to be touring later on this year and I have tickets, I will be genuinely gutted if it can’t go ahead |

The who just after the release of ‘face dances’. They didn’t stop between numbers and just jammed into the next song. Kept everyone on the edge of their seats wondering what the next song would be - they were on fire that night. |

Too many to remember and mention when I was a teenager as you could see all the top bands at local venues very cheaply.
Rolling Stones free concert in Hyde Park was a great experience.
Siggur Ross in Paris with my daughter when we went camping near Versaille. They replicated the cover of their album on stage and had curtains hanging in front of them like snowy cobwebs for the first few songs so it was very atmospheric. Only about 100 people there and it was standing only. |

I have seen hundreds over the years, loved most of them. In the last 10 years i have seen several groups many times ... Muse, Coldplay, Keane ... all brilliant live.
I have also seen Kasabian live many times, probably the best gig was when they played at the King Power stadium a month after Leicester City had won the Prem ... amazing, i was so emotional ... however since it all came out about Tom and he went to court, i have struggled to enjoy their music.
If i had to chose just one band and one gig it would be the Stereophonics, we have seen them about 9 times, they are amazing live, in Leeds in 2018 (i think) that gig was fantastic with the drummer coming up through the stage in the middle of one song, one of my favs ..Mr. & Mrs Smith |

I have seen some of the biggest (and smallest) names play inc...Pink Floyd, The Who, Paul Weller, Elton John, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Michael Jackson, U2 etc...my hands down fav was Tears For Fears a coupe of years ago. The nostalgia runners over and the quality of gig was outstanding- goes to show, you never can tell where you’ll find your greatest moments in life |

not the biggest band I have seen, but by far the best was when me and a couple of mates watched James at Castlefield Bowl in Manchester a few years ago. unusually for them they played every single hit, and at one point the crowd just took over singing along to 'sometimes' and it felt more like a religious experience than a gig! the band just stopped playing, stood back and watched.
it'd take something really special to ever top that for me. |

So many to choose but has to be Springsteen at the Nou Camp Barcelona in 2008. An incredible atmosphere. Also Bowie at Earls Court in 1978, the day I left school. He had such stage presence, you couldn't take your eyes off him. I saw Kraftwerk a couple of years ago and their stage show was pretty amazing as well. Finally, any gig by The National who I just love! |

Machine head in Manchester a good few years back,I think it was the 10th anniversary of the burning red, they played an entire gig and then proceeded to play the burning red in its entirety for the encore (talk about value for money) needless to say we missed the last train home so went on to gilly's rock world until about 6am.

Iron Maiden. Still one of the best live bands going and seen them about 10 times now. Best one was Twickenham Stadium though.
A very close second is first time I saw Metallica in '89. They were just ferocious live back in those days. Feel lucky to have seen them at that point. |
