Somewhere In The Ether…

So....have you finished your wrapping?

Are you any good at it?

Could you wrap all mine please?

I’m admittedly bloody terrible at wrapping and seem to get worse each year.

Would it be poor etiquette to hand over presents wrapped in an Asda carrier bag?

Gift bags and tissue papee are the way forward. Put gift in. Scrunch up tissue paper and put on top of gift. Request recipient returns bag. Reuse next year

I’m usually a Christmas Eve wrapper but I’ve been much more organised this year and have wrapped as I bought

"Oh and at least use a Waitrose carrier with a gift bow stuck on it. "

I was thinking of leaving it all in the (humongously oversized!) Amazon boxes it came in with a ribbon draped semi-artistically over the top.

....I wish I had paid more attention to Neil Buchanan on Art Attack all those years ago

I’ve got my little Niece a lovely Disney Princess gift bag

One problem though.....the thing is so big that it’s dwarfing the actual presents I’m putting in it.... I may fill the remaining, majority space with tissue

Am I weird? I love wrapping presents. I like working out the different angles and shapes and making them look pretty with tags and bows and ribbon. Haha. They’re not always perfect but they’re done with care and attention that’s the main thing.

To be fair though it’s only gonna get ripped off and go in someone’s mothers or mother in laws black bin bag on Xmas morning so I guess It’s a pointless exercise.

It's a worthwhile pointless exercise though, if such a thing exists. It brings you joy and after this year, we could all do with more joy and happiness.

Norfuck! / Lincolnshire

I’ve not started.... buying or wrapping just can’t get in to it

Wrapping Tip:

Buy a roll of clear cellophane.... and a big roll of thin wrapping ribbon

No matter how crap you are at wrapping gifts add a luxury touch by finishing off ... placing the gift in a length of cellophane. Draw and gather it in at the top and tie with ribbon to secure. Add several strands of ribbon and curl by running a knife with tension along the ribbon and hey presto!!

Shall I do a YouTube demo?

Ooo yes please!

Also, if you don’t, I’ll doubtless end up inadvertently cutting off my own finger with the knife and taking it to A&E in the cellophane bag

I feel your pain; for me though - I start off badly, get a great deal worse in the middle and go out on an absolute disaster

Also, is there anything worse than cutting the paper to measure and then realising whilst wrapping it around the intended present that it doesn’t in fact quite cover it? Argh!!!

Almost all gifts are wrapped. I bought individual sheets of wrapping paper with carrots, roast potatoes, yorkshire puds, sliced turkey, peas, sprouts, pigs in blankets, stuffing and gift tags of cranberry sauce, mustard and gravy.

My gifts look like a Christmas dinner under the tree...

True I may just wrap birthday presents tomorrow and save the rest to 21/22

Takes me a long time to, although made it a bit easier on myself and bought some reuseable, drawstring Christmas bags this year, so easy peasey for some of it

We do Ocado once a fortnight and supplement with the odd trip to Sainsbury's. Other than that, it's been online too. We did go to Next once in October to buy winter clothing for a 3yo......

Finished all the Christmas wrapping about 6 weeks ago (I'm not normally this organised), tissue paper and gift bags mostly. Last year was tissue paper and a Christmas shopper bag, they could then use the bag afterwards

Now need to sort putting birthday presents in a bag for my youngest ready for the morning.

If no one gets me one this year, I intend to draw some eyes and put two large false teeth on my penis to emulate one of these delightful creatures.

Surely, a close up photo of such a cute sight will rocket me to the top of the hot pics section on here...

I'll Fab the fuck out of it "

"So....have you finished your wrapping?

Are you any good at it?

Could you wrap all mine please?

I’m admittedly bloody terrible at wrapping and seem to get worse each year.

Would it be poor etiquette to hand over presents wrapped in an Asda carrier bag?

I absolutely love christmas present wrapping, I used to leave it all till xmas eve when my kids were small. I even bought a proper office cellitape dispenser for the job "

I have one of those - a fantastic invention and certainly saves so much in time in having to desperately try to find the end of the celotape on the roll before struggling to cut it cleanly with scissors

For you gorgeous - a cuddly baby tiger toy

Yes please xx

I would like a real life Naked Mole Rat; You know I love those little critters

They look like a penis with arms, legs and a mouth

I'd happily wrap them for you. I don't have many to wrap myself because the nephews and niece want money and we don't buy for the older adults. I miss wrapping all my Nan's and helping Mum with hers.

I must confess, that although I am hardly good at wrapping (quite appalling in fact!) I did nonetheless find it rather relaxing earlier.

Nonetheless, please feel free to take over

I seem to have more and more to buy for each year. I’m going to tell people around me to stop having children

We should have done it together. Could have been a laugh.

Glasgowish

I like wrapping presents and making them look pretty. I buy all my wrapping paper, ribbons and gift bags in the January sales.

"I started. I hate it I start off good, they are nicely wrapped, then as the evening goes on and I get more fed up (and d*unk ) my standards slip."

This is literally how it works for me too!

I think it’s the wrapping paper... maybe the wine
