In response to Deep Brown Eyes 88 thread on songs that should never be covered, how about the opposite view- songs that have great cover versions?
Not necessarily better, but just great, imaginative covers.
I'm going with 2:

Got halfway through it...soz but for me a good cover has to add or do something with the original.....not copy it.

30 Seconds to Mars version of Bad Romance.
Jade Bird has done some amazing covers like Grinning in your face which was a Son House cover.
She also did a cover of Radiohead Blackstar which I love.
