What is one toxic trait we have developed off our parents?

Mine is my ability to hide how I truely feel about something. I call this toxic because when I can't bit my tongue any longer things (CAN) get very heated

Somewhere In The Ether…

Whilst not toxic in any way, I would definitely say that I have inherited my mum’s shyness.

Being stubborn.

Both my Mam and I are very stubborn.

This caused a lot of arguments growing up because neither of us would back down.

I think I am still unconsciously influenced by the Catholic beliefs about sex that were instilled in me as a child. I still have unresolved psychological issues about it despite working through them in therapy.

Inherited, none.

Evolved. Cynicism.

I used to believe a stranger was a friend you have not met yet, now I assume they're an arsehole I haven't met yet and see if they can change my mind.

The more people I meet, the more I like dogs.

.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's toxic but my mother is an over thinker and much like her I'm also prone to overthinking sometimes. I don't know if that's learned behaviour from her though, feels a bit mean to lay the blame at her feet.

Go on, blame her.

I do with my Mum to wind her up
