Somewhere In The Ether…

No, this is not a lewd euphemism; I really am talking about gherkins.

They’re fucking awesome right?

Have ‘em with burgers, have them in a sandwich, have them with jam or even custard.

Is there anything more amazing or versatile than a gherkin? (aside from possibly a pickled onion)

Anyhoo, do you have any gherkin related stories?

Perhaps you like to perform lewd sexual acts with them or may even have married one?

Off you go good folks and may the gherkin be with you....always

I have to admit, once they've got old Ronnie M's special sauce on em, they transform into something magical

Somewhere In The Ether…

Random but nonetheless extraordinarily interesting Gherkin factoid:

Remember the rhyme about Peter Piper?

He picked a ‘peck’ of pickled peppers.

Well....a peck is approximately two gallons worth(!)

Actually....it occurs to me that this fact is about peppers and fuck all to do with gherkins after all.

It is interesting though. Well....I thought so

Bloody love gherkin. I love tartar sauce with loads of gherkin in it - solid pile of chopped gherkin and capers, tiny spoon of diced olives and a tiny smidge of mayo just to bind it together.

I love those sliced sandwich gherkins you can get, they're lush.

Mr Yummy has always loved them but I used to hate them, that is until I was pregnant with my 2nd and I was craving pickled things.... I'd sit there with a jar of them and a block of red Leicester and I've liked them ever since

Regularly make what has been christened the’ Deli Sandwich’ after Domino’s did it on a pizza years ago (although it’s probably a common deli combo)

Crusty baguette, pastrami, Emmental cheese, sliced gherkins (plenty), American style mustard.

Bangin’....

Perfect with nashville hot chicken and goes great with pulled pork & coleslaw sandwiches.

The fellow love for the humble gherkin on this thread warms my heart

How many gherkins does it take to count for one of my five a day?
