Aye. I have two brilliant male friends from here. One I've known for five years now, lives in Scotland so we haven't met yet but he's been a really good friend. Other I've known for going on two and half years now, not only is he a top friend but he's also pretty damn good in bed. |

In my naivete I thought this place would be full of like minded people who would be open minded, liberal and non judgemental who I could socialise with as well as potentially dabble my tackle with occasionally.
They're here, I know, and I have connected with a fair few people, but I think the site is a bit of a monster and and is a victim of its own size sadly(for me). Bloody idealist.
There was another site which was a bit cosier, but it's now defunct, sadly. |

No, not yet. There is one woman I (Mrs) chat to now and again who I feel I'd get on with very well in person.
I've been kicking around Internet forums since Noah started ark.com and I'm extremely wary of virtual interaction having seen some spectacular fall out. |

Yes, and quite unexpected it was too. An amazing experience, which I'd describe as life changing, and enjoying every second of it. |

Consider myself lucky to have connected with some lovely people (some on this thread) and count on them as good friends regardless of whether we have met or not, people I can turn to in times of need as well as just chatting etc - some of them know me better than friends outside the site.
As for that elusive "connection" that goes beyond just friendship OP - it's entirely feasible and stands up to reason that people will make that connection that goes beyond pure friendship, especially amongst people that have met and been intimate together - there are many here that have found that and become couples, or who meet regularly (when circumstances allow) it's no different from any other walk of life in that respect. |

Yes, a close friend who I had seen in passing elsewhere before, then we got chatting on here before meeting up properly. Our regular Saturday morning walks are doing wonders for my mental health during lockdown at the moment |

Yes. It's wonderful when you make that connection. I'm lucky and have made some incredible friends, two of whom are now my lockdown 2.0 bubble and are being incredible while I'm basically incapacitated.
