"Ghost story"
This was VERY COOL. The finger in mid air (I won't say anymore) made my mouth drop.
I'll add to the growing list..
The Invitation
Hurt Locker
Gone Baby, Gone
Hereditary
Dark Knight (remember the first time you saw that) |

I sadly can’t recall the name of it but it starred Liam Neeson as a photographer who was accused of murdering his wife.
It was set back in the 1940’s or 50’s and Neeson was all set to hang unless the detective found the evidence in time, that he was set up.
There was a rather nice final twist at the end to... |

When the Wind Blows. Realist but cartoon representation of the fear of nuclear holocaust in the 1980’s. At the end of the film the whole audience stayed seated, remained silent until the lights came up. It was everyone’s reaction to the film that was the most scary part of watching the film. Certainly a zeitgeist movie of the 80’s with USA basing their nuclear missiles all over the UK. Scary times , scary but brilliant film by Raymond Briggs, Bowie’s music astounding. John Mills and Peggy Ashcroft’s performances were heart rending |

The crying game.
Of course the sad thing about all these films us the twist only hits you the first time. After that you know what's coming. If you still want to watch it again, you know it's more than the twist |

There and to the left a bit |
Not so much the whole film but there was a Liam Neeson film years ago called Under Suspicion that one scene had me completely tensed up gripping the arms of my seat not knowing what was going to happen - have never known anything quite that tense in a film |

"Usual Suspects
"
Keyser soze. The only film I've watched and had to watch again straight away just to get my head around what just happened.
Remember as a teen watching lord of the rings with my cousin who was a big fan of the books.
After watching the 1st movie. I said that was class but what a shite ending!!
Only to be told. It's a trilogy ya fanny. You need to watch the next 2. The suspense is still ongoing as I've never seen any more. |

"Hereditary"
That was some fucked up shit, ok, great acting from toni collette, not from Gabriel Byrne, if it wasn't for the superb direction that film would of been shit, but it was eerie as fuck |

"The first time I watched Paranormal Activity and Blair Witch "
I remember going to the pics to see Blair Witch with my then gf my mate and his soon to be baby mommy. Sick fucker who's gf was terrified thought it was a good idea to leave a formation of stones on the doorstep as he left early for work.
Big mistake. Had to deal with a terrified pregnant women for months.
Karma is a bitch. Lol |

"A Quiet Place was STRESSFUL af. my blood pressure went through the roof haha
I'll have to watch that one then!"
It is so so good, but literally from the start it has "wtf" moments, and the silence just puts you right on edge for the whole movie. My heart rate must have doubled for 2 straight hours. |

The good, the bad and the ugly. A few years ago a restored copy of the directors original version was released, putting back nearly half an hour of scenes that were chopped for the USA and UK cinema releases back in 1966. Full running time is now very nearly 3 hours.
The final sequences in the cemetary with the music "the ecstasy of gold"... For me it's the closest to a perfect western that I've ever seen. |
