Had a greyhound bull cross lurcher, the most amazing dog but no recall and smashed its way through 3kg of food a day, amazing beast though and insanely affectionate.

Have a Labrador now 10 loving gental not to mad and not to big.

Beginning of April came across a crashed car owner had a stroke and a German shepherd in the back of the car so I tock it in for the owner. Unfortunately the owner/driver did not make it so now have a very clingy German shepherd as well but the lab is more a family dog if a bit naughty

You don't say if it's your first dog OP.

Not at the moment but always had German Shepherds. Dogs need lots of attention and time but important to remember that they are pack animals and are happier when they know their place in the family unit.

Mine is petrified of fireworks...I feel so sorry for him at this time of year.

I've found that a pressure point wrap helps a bit, and I sit in the dining room which is in the middle of the house with him, close the doors and curtains and turn the TV up loud...he can only hear the really loud bangs that way.

I had two Cockers who I adore but lost one last the end of last year. It was totally the right thing to do but that didn’t make it easier.

I’m left with my beautiful loyal girl who I adore but she’s 18 and I know that that horrible day will be repeated again sooner than later.

I have marvellous memories and still make them with my remaining girl but I miss my beautiful diva dog desperately.

I agree. My vet says they are the only dogs he always muzzles before treating them. I had a Golden Cocker who could be perfect one moment then turn into a vicious beast the next, then back to loving after he had bitten you. The vet said ithe problem is they have been bread with a very slim skull which can compress their brains and cause them to have epileptic type attacks where they just lose control.

Unfortunately we had to have ours put down as he attcked our new baby and myself in one of those fits and made it impossible to trust him. A real shame but it wasn't worth taking the chance he would change.

Poodles are one of the most violent breads but just not seen that way.

But generally there are no bad dogs just bad owners. The dog is not to blame you only get out what you put in. If you want a loving dog you have to give it love time and affection.

Think of it as you lover and you will be fine.

No not like that you lot.
