Yes, hotel is struggling really badly. But survived through lockdown, then through 1st phase of redundancies.
Owners offered either 8 shifts a month but only on pro-rata pay (not salaried), which meant drop in take-home pay of 63%, or Redundancy.
I chose latter; I'd finance contingency plans in place, so Mortgage etc all paid off. I'm not worried. This employer has been best ever and their redundancy package shows they are looking after me. |

At least they have your best interests at heart, are you looking for other employment or do you have any hobbies that you would like to persue? |

I'll look for work, though probably just to keep DWP at bay till I retire in mid May next year and get full state pension. I have to get house back in order after working away from home for 9 years.
I also have plans to write a book on my lifetime experiences in Hotels. But if I do find work, it WON'T be on Nights. After 33 years doing it, I have earned my spurs, and hate it now! |
