Im fond of many music Genres.. however late 90s early 00's (kevin and perry era) trance does something to me that other genres dont. It brangs back some memories of killer holidays and tremendous rendezvous in the sun!

So whats your top trance tracks and associated memories?

Y-Traxx - mystery land

Top off in cream ibiza under the foam cannon in 2003 feeling invincible

Firstly, thank you OP.

There aren't many threads about Trance on the forum.

My list is endless but I'll try to put few tracks that were very important for me.

Motorcycle -"As The Rush Comes"(mentioned here before)

Chicane -"Saltwater"

Delerium feat. Sarah McLachlan -"Silence"

Rano 1 -"Airwave"

Gouryella -"Gouryella"

4 Strings -"Take Me Away"

Gaia -"Aisha"

Marusha -"Final Fantasy remix"

Westbam & Dr.Motte -"One love, one future"

....

Memories, I was a teenager and had good times with friends.

No worries, no social media crap, less hate.

Wouldn’t bother , once it’s done it’s done, Ibiza is shit now it’s like love island or something.

We kinda missed most of it as were in NZ 96-99 the scene wasn’t great other than a few clubs in Auckland but we used to listen to all the music coming from Europe and Thailand full moon parties

It was, you're right.

These times will never go back.

Love Parade in Berlin for example. There were hundreds of thousands of people from different cultures dancing together without the risk of terrorist attacks.

This, it’s really not like it used to be. It was never about the VIP areas or looking the part. There for the music! Fond memories of Ibiza, heading to Space and also been in the water park next door listening to the tunes. X

Does anybody remember a sample used in 1992?

It was on a DIY mixtape with some Orb/Little Fluffy Clouds on it, remember those?

The voice said "Never have the power to assume a police mission", or something similar.

His voice was similar to William Shatner, maybe from his TJ Hooker days.

It had a very short cello bridge section too.

I was seriously into the clubbing scene in the early to late 00's, I'd have to dig out some of my old cd's to remember the name of the tracks that haven't already been mentioned in this thread.

Trance was decent but hard house was where I was at my happiest on the dance floors, used to love a dirty Lisa Lashes bounce set back in the day

I feel you OP, trance definitely does make you feel different to any other genre. I usually go to Butlins every September to Ibiza legends weekend and love listening to all the old trance music and dance my ass off. Always puts a huge smile on my face and brings back some great memories. Some of my faves are:

Cosmic Gate- fire wire

Motorcycle- as the rush comes

Delirium- silence

Scooter- move your ass

Warrior - warrior

666- D.E.V.I.L

Mauro Picotto- lizard

Southside spinners- lovestruck

Eurythmics- sweet dreams

Baby D- let me be your fantasy

Omg my sort of post lol. Was a massive fan of Tiesto back in the day, I was quite lucky that I got to go see him do a set at Ally pally in London. Nothing like a rave to pure tunes and the sun shimming through the glass roof.

Also massive fan of Kevin and Perry, it’s all gone Pete tong....those sort of films. Sadly I never got to visit Ibiza which was my dream as I settled down way too early but I did get to work at creamfields over the years as security. Now there’s some stories to be told lol.

My favourite trance tune of all time is:

Icone joins Arpegia - Fatal Beauty (Arpeggia edit)

Gives me tingles everytime I hear it.

So many memories from when I first heard this in Gatecrasher back in the day.

When DJ Scott Bond first droped this just after midnight, the club went nuts and demanded he played it again straight away, which he did.

Hope you enjoy this tune as much as I always do

Cindi x

If anyone seriously believes Trance is dead they need to have a long hard look at themselves. Yes I may not get to clubs as much as I used to ‘pre lockdown’ but I still am madly in love with the genre. There are so many great artists still flying the trance flag high. Even check the album charts the man himself Will Atkinsons new album is in the top 40. Then you’ve got Bryan Kearney and John o’Callaghan still banging them out. Even the new guys Shugz and David rust. We will always remember our 90’s and 00’s trance but the new stuff is every bit as good. Sorry guys I’m passionate about the topic
