Definitely Zeppelin, for most influential! I would say

Now, if you asked Floyd or Zeppelin, I'd be in trouble

Somewhere In The Ether…

Deep Purple were my personal favourite

Even through lineup changes, they remained awesome in all incarnations

"Most influential ? A question for the rockers. "

Well Cream were the first, but probably Zeppelin as they were the most successful.

Definitely Zeppelin. Their ability to cross genres from acoustic, blues, synth, rock, prog. You can't pigeon hole them. And to this day, they remain very much an underground band compared to the Beatles. And for every person that says Zeppelin are awesome, 10 will say they are over rated. Cream and Purple, Sabbath, Free, all magnificent but there really was only one band in the 70s

Have seen Led Zep and Deep Purple at Knebworth, it's a no brainer, even with Ian Gillan I wasn't gonna get trampled under foot....

Of the three I think Zep are the most admired, but I'm not sure how many bands showed an influence in their music.

In terms of influence I think I'd go with Cream. They were the start of the power trio thing and Clapton's guitar-playing has influenced many musicians over the decades.

I'd say Cream were interested in being authentic.

Zep were inventive. They could lay down a rock classic, but there was also a lot of hurdy gurdy folky hippy stuff in there. They even used a pedal steel guitar.

Purple were into being stars.

Torquay

In the grove by gate and hill midst merry throng and market clatter stood the hall of the mountain grill where tables strained neath loaded platter.

Name the band
