"Fred Flintshone sure tip toes around a lot for a big fella."
Oh you mean thoughts about James Bond, thought you meant in general, I’m indifferent to who plays him. |

I think they will go back to a smoother character role as we have had a few years of the cold hearted bastard role that Daniel Craig has been so good at
I’m thinking :
Taron Egerton
Tom Hiddleston
Luke Evans

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon |
"Is that a definite? -Last I heard, Tom Hiddleston was in the frame.
Michael Fassbender would be my favourite for the next James Bond"
Oooh Michael Fassbender would be goooood |

I was meant to put at work. But I’m juggling my first coffee.

Fassbender would make a great bond
Although I'm holding out hope for Idris Elba |

A couple of years ago on a similar thread to this I suggest the actor Sam Robertson who plays Adam Barlow in Corrie could make a good James Bond I was surprised that a couple of people agreed.I still think he could make a good James Bond |

"Should be Idris Elba "
Agreed he has the natural persona for bond
Tom although he is fit, is not quite right unless they are going for a younger bond, restarting a new saga of bonds younger life rather than continuing on Daniel craigs saga...

I heard it was just a rumour, nothing confirmed.
I love Daniel Craig as Bond, a hard act to follow.
I love Tom Hardy so we'll see what happens.
I saw Daniel Craig coming out of our local Coop not long after Skyfall was released, his Dad (now passed) lived a few mile away

Taron Egerton is far too cool to be Bond. |

The only decent thing I've seen Tom Hardy in was 'Bronson' - perfect role for him.
Nowadays if I see a film stars him it's usually a good filter for me to not see it. |

Yup, he plays a good character. Loved him in Legend, particularly his portrayal of Ronnie.
And my favourite character Alfie Solomans in Peaky Blinders |

somewhere |
Someone on twitter made up the story and some newspapers robbed it
There's not a hope of it being true
Publicity for new Bond not out yet first, then launch of film in November
Then new film announced next summer and new Bond announced soon after once they get loads of publicity
Its how it works |

"If he gets the role of Bond I’ll be having a major sulk.
I don’t even think he’s a good actor. I mean has anyone watched Venom???
"
I watched Venom so I agree with your analysis |

"Obvious choice but I think a good one.
My choice would have been Janie dornan though. No one agreed with me before, but now that you've all seen the fall hopefully someone will "

"I'm a huge bond fan..and this is a big No from me...it needs to be Henry Cavill
There's a big flaw in that though...as Henry cavill can't act. "
I agree. He’s gorgeous to look at but he’s more wooden than an ikea bed. |

Terrible decision. The man's in too many movies for his own good his characters become a blur.
And that fake accent he puts on for the sky advert and the CBBC bedtime story makes me want to vomit |

"On the whole Peaky Blinders cast what about Cillian Murphy in the role as Bond??"
I really don't get the Cillian Murphy thing or Peaky Blinders - he looks like Jack Skeleton from Nightmare Before Christmas
He needs a sandwich. |

As long as he’s not an American, then I’m generally happy whoever they pick. My concern over the franchise is they’d want to pick some American actor to play him, so to appease the US Market.
I think Tom Hardy will bring something different to the role as Daniel Craig did. I loved him in Bronson so won’t be surprised if he does a fine job with Bond |

"The best Bond we never got: The late, Lewis Collins. He was so perfect for the role . Yes he would have made a great James Bond "
Indeed he would have..
Idris Elba would've been our choice now.. |

Love the Bond movies. Had to Google Tom Hardy, Bond isn't usually bearded lately plus he doesn't have tattoos, so that would change it up a bit, not sure if that would be good or bad? Bond has the perfect body |

Good call, Miss Y - he's an excellent actor and has the sex appeal unlike some of the other names that have been floated by actors' press agents as having been "considered" for Bond.
I think in general the Bond films are better when they get a good actor and allow him to present a three dimensional character who is somewhat vulnerable now and then. I know others disagree, but the ones I can't bear is where 007 is a smug superhero (Brosnan) or where the whole thing isn't taken seriously (Moore).
I also dislike something that particularly marred some in the Daniel Craig series, too many exciting, expensive but tiring set pieces to keep the action flowing. The early Bonds were relatively low budget films, and any spectacle had to be sparing, which meant the filmmakers had to fill the gap with tension. |

"Never mind Bobd he should get sorted with the rest of taboo...is it only me that found his character erm...stimulating lolol"
The Devil Delaney
That was a wonderfully dark series
‘I have a use for you....’
Good news! It is apparently returning with possibly series two and three being filmed back to back. The problem (and why it has taken so long in coming) has been finding time in Tom’s busy schedule to fit it in.
Here’s hoping we’ll see James Delaney back next year |

Has he actually been cast or is a snowball thing where it's been put up on a website somewhere then gets reported in other places before being picked up by the print media etc.? |
