Why on earth do people feel the need to demand that forum members discuss a topic they have posted?
The whole reason for a forum to exist is to discuss topics.
Do such people imagine they are junior school teachers demanding their students concentrate on their demands?
Do they think if they don't demand forum subscribers discuss the subject rather than talk about the weather?
Do they think it makes them seem educated if they add that?
Or is it some other reason? |

Who is demanding that we talk about a particular subject?
People post things, some catch on and others don't. I have seen a bit of persistence to try and get something going but I haven't seen any demands. |

There's a lot of weird threads where people talk absolute shite. The sort of conversation people have while sat in a ditch sharing a kebab with a pigeon after a night out.
Using the word "discuss" highlights that the thread isn't really their cup of tea and they should stick with the pigeon. |

Yes, demand, by ending their introductory posts with the word “Discuss”."
That isn't a demand, it is a forums way of opening up/encouraging readers to debate the subject in the OP.
It is a pretty standard across many forums I have used.
But there is nothing forcing you to join in, no matter how demanding the OP may be. |
