This is something I wrote on social media
When black panther was announced I wasn’t sure how it would be received by people. A second tier marvel character who was black, a potentially risky move by marvel and the actor himself (it shouldn’t be risky as it doesn’t matter if your black or white if your a superhero). There was a number of racial slurs made at the time
Chadwick boseman smashed it out of the park not only on civil war but in the black panther. I knew he had played Jackie brown in the bio pic. He have a generation of kids both black and white the belief that they could be a superhero, no matter what your colour of your skin should be
What we as fans of marvel and later the actor himself, that he had colon cancer during this time. He was fighting this every day for the last 4 years. I am actually gutted black panther 2 was a film I was looking forward to seeing. It won’t be the same however t’challa and Chadwicks portrayal of the character will live on both through MCU, and the social change that it created

Incredibly sad and totally out of the blue. He was filming high-energy action films all while going through surgeries and chemotherapy... Incredible dedication. Really goes to show you never know what people are going through. I am very glad he got the opportunity to inspire millions of young people of colour to reach for the stars. RIP Chadwick. |

Just awful.
I will have one very sad girl this morning.
I shall tell her to live her life with dignity and kindness, to seize every opportunity fearlessly and to face up to struggles with strength and courage. |

Diagnosed in 2016.
Chadwick did Black Panther, Civil War, Infinity War, Endgame, Thurgood Marshall, 21 Bridges and 5 Bloods - back to back with colon cancer.
To keep working throughout is real superhero stuff!

he played some what will end up being iconic roles... the fact that kids of colour will be able to look up to a superhero and think "cool"!
his portrayal of jackie robinson in "42" was immense... irony being that today is "jackie robinson" day in baseball.... |

When I posted this thread 7hours ago I was in shock.
7hours later and im still saddened.
It wasn't just what he achieved on screen and his legacy on film but the way he carried himself off screen that makes him a special actor celebrity man and person.
Sad news
