"I got a call from my daughter last night,
Dad seeing as I'm back to school this week, here is my Christmas present list,,
Ffs it's still August, "
Years ago I had a gf whose birthday was June 25th. But on her birthday she'd hand in her Christmas list and on Christmas Day she'd hand in her birthday list |

"Bah humbug.... I can't wait
"
For what, exactly? We're almost guaranteed to be locked down again, so there'll be no markets to go to, shopping will be an absolute ballache and Christmas Day will be just like any other, on your own, but with forced jollity on the TV.
I reckon Christmas will be every bit as shit as the rest of this year has been, but worse "because it's Christmas"
Oh, and happy new year |

Just wellingtons, or with stockings and suspenders?
Either way, it sounds kinky |

Oh, I forgot about birthdays
Brother's, sister-in-law's and nephew's are all in October, plus there'll be a new arrival in late November, and mum's birthday is Xmas Eve....
Shit, and parents' 50th wedding anniversary is on Halloween.... |

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon |
I've got over 1000 presents to buy, sort and wrap for the town's grotto. Normally by now I've at least bought the buggers and am sitting staring at them on my days off. But we've not figured out if and how we can run it going forward.
Have a heart and feel for the elves during this hard time.

I get that the grotto is a nice thing to do, and I hope you can find a way to run it safely, but the thought of 1000 separate presents has actually brought me out in a cold sweat |

It will 2 weeks of food and drink, family, presents and dodgy TV as per normal here
Shhh don't tell everyone but online shopping is helpful if you don't want to go out |

It's the cutting of the paper and tape that's the biggest issue. |

"4 months today! I cannot wait "
I saw this thread and thought of you.
I like that it's now entering autumn - birthdays of loved ones, Halloween and then Christmas this year which will be amazing as I'm not hosting for the first time in several years! |
