Surpassing the original - metalheadz (and non-metalheadz) should check out the Swedish band Hellsongs for their covers of classic rock/metal songs.

Highlights are Orgasmatron, Paranoid, Seasons in the Abyss,

and Run to the Hills.

On a metal theme Xentrix's cover of Ghostbusters is awesome.

Billie Jean by The Civil Wars

and any cover done by Johnny Cash on his American Recordings

Stand by Me by Pennywise as well.

I absolutely agree - Dylan is a fantastic songwriter but his vocal style is not really to my taste which often results in covers of his work sounding more pleasing to my ears

True but the song was written and produced by prince and performed with rosey gains
