Led Zeppelin - Rock and Roll

Hawkwind - Shot down in the night

Saxon - Heavy Metal Thunder

Rainbow - Kill the King and Stargazer

Iron Maiden - Number Of The Beast

Motorhead / Girlschool - Please don't touch and Bomber

80's and 90's was so 'rock' as the ex wife wasn't a fan of the louder variety.

Last 20 years...

Nightwish - I wish I had an Angel

Within Temptation - Skyfall (Adele cover)

Metallica - Sad but true / Enter the Sandman

Kind of cross genre - Within Temptation - And We Run ft. Xzibit

An no metal list of the 00's would be complete without Lordi getting an honourable mention for smashing the (cough) eurovision song contest into the world of metal...Best Eurovision winner EVER.

All time favourite is probably Faith No More, although I'm quite sure Patton would vigorously dispute me classing them as a metal band. I'm gonna say From Out Of Nowhere as my top tune, but there are a lot of contenders to pip it to the top spot.

More recently, I'm listening to the new August Burns Red album "Guardians" a lot, and absolutely loving it. And although it's more hardcore than metal, ditto the new release from The Ghost Inside. The lead track "Aftermath" gives me goosebumps.

Listening to Avenged Sevenfold, Nightmare. They might be a bit of a gateway band who are accessible but I don't think that's a bad thing. I could see them taking a headline slot at Download on days two or three. There aren't many bands who are capable once the old guard disappear.

"Iv listened to slipknot latest album and it's hard to find a better album in the last 10 years, Corey Taylor is a force of nature

Nero Forte is brutal. Corey was quite critical of the entire music scene changing their styles and having no particular message or artistry anymore in order to fit in with the Spotify generation. Well those were more my words than his but I believe that's what he meant anyway!

People = Shit

The Heretic Anthem

We are not your kind is a fantastic album from start to finish!

"

Nero Forte is a great song but I actually had meant Solway Firth was the brutal beast of a song.
