"Love that the thread is called forgotten classics and some of you are naming some of the most well known acts of that era.
Good choices though."
But the thread was about forgotten classic songs not forgotten acts - even the biggest acts of the era can have songs that are forgotten or rarely played on the radio etc as my list clearly shows
To take Madness (biggest selling singles act in the UK of the 80s) as an example when they're played on the radio you can pretty much guarantee it'll be one of about 5 or 6 songs that are played - their other 15 or so singles of the decade are pretty much forgotten by most |

Pass the dutchie was great, life was simpler then, and in a lot of ways better. The 80s had some great music, also run from love, bronski beat, lesser known classic |

"I Want Your Love or Baby I Don’t Care, Transvision Vamp
Wendy James was boss"
She was!! Remember my auntie going crazy for the band, especially her, and how her and her teenage mates would sing the songs all the time xx |

"the black song of all black songs...
"candy" by cameo.......
(and all the brothers and sisters know exactly what i am on about..... )"
and then there is the other black classic.... I found lovin by the fatback band....
any black formal occasion (birthday/wedding/ christening/do after a funeral) can be judged by when those two songs are played |

That along with Feel So Real by Steve Arrington and Just Be Good To Me by The SOS Band take me back to a very specific time and place and group of people - always makes me smile and reminisce when I hear any of them |
