8th November 1981 - Hemel Hempstead Pavillions - Madness with The Belle Stars as support
Can still remember so much detail from that gig, yet the last one I went to (same band at The Roundhouse, Camden in December last year) I can't  |

Sadly Madness’s recent gigs have fallen into the forgettable category. I wish I’d seen them in their prime. |

Sadly Madness’s recent gigs have fallen into the forgettable category. I wish I’d seen them in their prime."
You obviously didn't see them in December when they played The Roundhouse or last June when they played with a full orchestra and were back to their absolute best - the only forgettable element of those gigs was my age related memory!! 
Although agree that their "take the money and run" racecourse and similar gigs are a little formulaic and designed to appeal to less discerning (and usually d*unk) attendees |

Rolling Stones.. at Wembley I was about 15 or 16 with my parents.., I think it was the steel wheels tour or something..I think it was late 80s or very early 90s |

Cliff Richards (dont judge me..I went in place of my sister as my grab had brought it for her for her 18th bday and the poor girl was mortified..so it was a selfless act and bonding time with gran lol) aged 14 |

I was living 20 miles away at the time and I could just about hear it in the garden. Wind in the right direction I guess. "
I remember queuing for the bus just after five in the morning and the bus from the day before returning. We knew we were in for a long day. |
