Rufio in Hook!

When I watched it as a kid mum would pausee it for a snack break at that point then when I went to go get snacks the sneaky little witch used to fast forward that part! I watched it as an adult not long ago and was understandably shook to my very core from being lied to all these years! However, she did say that he didn’t die he went to go live with his mum and dad

Great. So no only do I have to cope with the childhood trauma of seeing Blakes7 mown down in a hail of gunfire, I now find out via a thread on a shaggers site that not only is Han Solo brown bread but to make matters worse so is Barry from Eastenders. Ffs nice one guys...

"Ah and also stopped watching Game of Thrones’ when they killed Khal Drogo off "

My wife will never get over that either....

Same goes for that bit where he bends Khaleesi over that rock, but for different reasons!

Although I have a bigger live for other characters like dobby and hedwig, not sure there has been another fictional death that affected us more than Opies.

"The crew of The Liberator when the Federation massacred them all at the end of Blakes7. As a seven year old that deeply disturbed me "what do you mean the goodies die?!" Made me who I am today..."

Oh hell yes, that one scarred me too. Not sure how old I was though, have to look up when broadcast.

Artax the horse in Never ending Story.

I know that he gets wished back to life at the end but the sequence where he drowns was horrible

It’s actually a horror cartoon from when I was a kid. Dracula and an occultist (who he stole off the devil when she was about to marry him) marry and have a baby (as you do) and Van Helsing shoots at Dracula in a Church, but it goes through him and hits the baby instead. Dracula died to save his wife in the end.

I was sobbing!! It’s ok in the end though as God forgives the wife and restores her baby to her as a grown man/angel as she’s mourning at his grave.

I’ve never forgotten that scene (obviously) as it was so sad and shocking to me as a kid- in hindsight my mums ex hubby shouldn’t have put it on for us kids to watch, even if it was a cartoon, but we were all horror mad x Viv x

I couldn’t handle being told about Lassie, but I really can’t watch the scene in Braveheart with the horses. Kill any man you want, but that was brutal! xx
