Went through this a couple times.
Speak to the wrc /employment solicitor they’ll inform you of your full entitlements.
Unfortunately some employers will try and squeeze back your pay packet unlawfully.
Then raise a glass a hold a fab party !lol
And let us know the time and date and il tell you how I like my steak cooked lol. I may even bring a few chocky bickies lol |

Maybe try and see it as an opportunity..? After 20 years you must be an expert in your field and it's an employees market at the moment in this country. People rarely stay in the same job for that long these days.. embrace the forced change and go on an adventure. That's my advice! Easy to say I know |

20 years is a long time to work in the same place.
You will have no problem finding another job.
My advice would be take some time for yourself to do a few things you always wanted to do.
Spend a bit of time updating your CV and look forward to your next challenge.
Best of luck. |

I would head off to gran canara for a few weeks, sort out your dole and collect for a few weeks, join a gym and focus on me till the new year and maybe another hol thrown into the mix. Visit people you haven't visited for a whole. Look into free courses.
I know you from before, so I remember where you worked and I think your skills could be transferable. You ll have no trouble getting back into work, so allow yourself to enjoy the downtime. |

I was made redundant 3 years ago. Don't see it as the end of something. See it as a new beginning. But I would spend at least 10% of my severance package on a well earned holiday |

excellent advise
it's definitely time to use well on yourself. you don't normally get chances like this. And like other posters mentioned there are huge job vacancies out there.
Enjoy |

Take a month off and go travelling if you are single. You'll never have the chance again. I've been made redundant 4 times and now am self employed. I will never work for anyone again. Already has 4 weeks off on holidays, over in France last week for the Rugby, in the UK today and tomorrow on a steam train ride in the west yuorkshire dales. |
