"Ken Carson.....Barbies better half
He has a surname?
Is Barbie married to him?"
Not sure officially but I and many other young girls no doubt held a few ceremonies for the pair of them |

"One for the real oldies on here,

Hello……. my name’s Julian…… and this is my friend Sandy
Now that's showing your age."
It’s regularly on radio 4 Extra, along with loads of other great stuff from yesteryear |

"One for the real oldies on here,
Kenneth Horne - Round the Horne radio show circa 1950"
It was called 'Beyond our Ken' in the 1950s
The title 'Round the Horne' came much later on, in the mid sixties.
I knew chunks of the unforgettable scripts.
"I jumped into a rickshaw with its Coolie already running"
"My name is Arbuthnot Nidle, but my friends call me 'Beau', because of the way I dress"
"We met at the Explorer's Club in London. Ah, Major, I thought you'd gone to the Limpopo? ... I had but there was somebody in there!"
..being some which come instantly to mind.
In those days, teenagers who were lucky owned a tape recorder. The program was on Sundays and we played it back repeatedly throughout the week.
