It's their choice not to renew for whatever reason.

Just because you or others may not understand or appreciate the division it may be causing amongst fabbers, it doesn't mean it's not a valid reason same as any.

Some don't renew for any reason other than they simply choose not to.

There are a lot of concerns and implications being raised over it. Many are very valid ones.

I'm enjoying them for all of the wrong reasons. So far it's helped filter out a few screamers.

I get totally put off by the fake, porn star sex noises. I was always told I'm pretty vocal but since we started swinging I've realised I'm way more quiet than most.

Guess it's worked out well to avoid that lol

Depends which browser. Seems to be fine on safari on an iPhone for me, which makes me think they’re some mp4 variant, and not all browsers are always happy about mp4 video

One of my friends who is single guy has uploaded 3 videos yesterday I can't find on here how he's done it he just said it was there when in add photo option he's a gold site supporter so maybe thats why

It was randomly done at first apparently and then more were asked to submit but only from ladies and couples.

Ive always been vehemently opposed to videos on fab.

My suspicion has always been that it will fill the site with videos of wanking men, together with the additional moderation burden.

Limiting the clips to 20 seconds has of course removed much of the burden.

Not forgetting of course, I won't be looking at videos of wanking men.

I still feel it's a feature that could drawn in the "wrong" audience. Making it site supporter only is a step in the right direction.

I'm still unsure, but I'm warming to the idea.

My preconceptions may have been wrong.

Oscars nominations will be soon, you've a great chance - the unashamed lack of clothes and suspense in your video is tangible - so many sub-plots, will scissoring be a possibility? , will the cut be with the right or - plot twist-with the left, will skyn be broken?..... a film worthy of Scorcese or Tarantino!

It’s a nice idea but to be honest I’ve had links to my videos in my profile for about 3 years meaning anyone else could have done that if they wanted so it’s nothing new really. Single men who want to add videos are still allowed, just do it on another site.

I think in time we'll be reading more complaints of guys reading profiles even less. They'll look at the wank fodder, think I can have some of that and message.

I do also feel it's going in the wrong direction. Less of the swing and more of sex/porn site. It's feeding the exhibitionists and guys may get more and more frustrated.

I am not sure were this came of men not being able to post videos as Admin have never said this. They did ask for people to apply to test it so limited the amount of people so they could control it while testing. They then halted anymore testers for the weekend as said on the bottom of this thread

It wasn't

Ni males were selected for the beta trail...a trial should be taken from a cross section of a membership, you appear to be very well read and learned on these matters so surely you would be aware of that.

I don’t like the video facility. I can’t see that it adds any value to the site. I think it is a step away from simply making it a porn site.

I would like to know how secure and safeguarded the videos are that are being uploaded or is it like photos that can be saved, copied, shared very readily?

I would also like to know how they are approved in line with the rules? Each video at 20 seconds when there are over 30,000 profiles is an awful lot of time for someone to watch each one and ensure they aren’t rule breaking. It’s not feasible for that to happen. Photos are currently getting through without being properly checked so how will it work with videos?

Quite a few have posted on forums why they got it without asking. A few have even asked it to be removed as they didn't request, so there must have been some initial random picking. Two friends too have it and didn't know anything about it till I'd asked them about the new video rage on forums.

Have to agree here, I wasn't for the idea initially, but we do have to move with the times I guess. I do think that 20 seconds is enough though. It is bringing the site up to date and it is still optional, you can use it or not. I do think it's a good idea to have it just for site supporters though, as they should be seeing more benefits than people who only want to use the site for free. Other sites work on this basis, some you can't even message for free. I think fab offers excellent value for money.

I am commenting on your statement that you have seen the video content on a few men’s profiles and you made the decision not to allow any males to be able post during the trial.

Can be another useful blocking mechanism which reduces inbox fill. May work in favour for some guys.

Ok. A wank video could easily be taken off another site and used though. If it's close up then it won't show much to identify them with unless you've already met them of ciyrse. This is where Google search won't work either for vids.

That is my main concern and most of these threads have comments along the lines of "it will make it easier to see if people are genuine".

I see how and why some people will love it and some will be great but I just think it's going to cause more problems than it's worth.

Our issue with videos is this. There are members on here who post pictures daily, and on a revolving conveyor belt, as in the same pictures over and over on a rotation which floods the new and hot photos section as well as your news feed. Now a lot of these people are posting multiple videos, will they now do the same with the videos? The last we checked it was meant to be a swingers site, yes, there will be an element of exhibitionism, but with all the newer features being photo/video related it’s easy to see why there are so many picture collectors and instashag people thinking it’s a sex site. There are plenty of none swinging sites where this is available and this site doesn’t need to head that way. We worry that once word gets out about the video clips you may find more pic collectors, time wasters and instashagers and the “I pay and I’m getting nowhere” people. Although as swingers sites get more popular you get more of these anyway, but this will definitely add to it.

We do however, also realise that this is a business and that the features to benefit genuine swingers that are free to use - aren’t free to provide. There are a lot of these features that they are dated and in need of improvement. This obviously takes investment to improve. If having small video clips that are only available to site supporters is the cost to get the money to invest, then it’s a small price to pay.

We imagine that there may well be three tariffs going forward potentially with videos as a platinum price. That to us would be great. As long as we see some improvements to the swinging based features. They have been mentioned by many people over the years but things like:-

Structure of profiles eg specific selectable genders for each half of a couple profile to enable searches for sexuality of individuals.

Better search functions, if coupled with better profiles the sexuality search could get better results eg bi fem straight male, bi male strait fem, or both bi as separate search options as opposed to now where it will bring up any profile where one or both is bi and then you have to trawl through to find what you want. The filter for profiles with photos to actually show only profiles with viewable photos not ones with hidden or photos that were displayed for a short time and taken of that day that still show in the search. There are loads more search improvements that have been suggested.

More or customisable interests.

Better areas - perhaps by county?

More regional/area chat rooms perhaps as above by county.

New emojis.

More contact filters

Gender view blocks (seems to be popular with males not wanting males to view them).

More modern site layout.

The above suggestions and many more have been made and it’s rare if ever to see admin say if any would be implemented, so perhaps a site news page that lets people know what’s in the pipeline?

As for the suggestion of video verification. It would be no different to photo verification and people complain that that doesn’t really work.

Finally, although videos were not something we wanted it is nice to see improvements and how well it has been rolled out. Well done admin, as apart from a bit of slowness an hour or two ago it’s been pretty smooth going and not affected the use of the rest of the site.

I think this is one of the types of upgrades that could of waited. Gender blocks are a must need, for couples and single men. There also still hasnt been an update to interests, as there's many I'd like to see on there (pegging ect).

I won't be using it as I've said before, worrying it might be another thing for single men to push you for now too.

Personally, I don’t think a video adds anything to a profile. I can appreciate a lovely photograph and know how hard it is to take. A short clip video is likely to be of lower artistic quality. A euphemism if ever there was one!

I’ve had the option since the weekend no didn’t ask for it.

My suggestion is that it’s a different fab site - similar to fab guys for instance. That gets things moving with the times, generates an income for the owners, grows the business, allows the feature for those that want it and keeps it away from those of us who feel it is turning the site into a porn site. I don’t think it has a place here.

Every pic / video is being checked by mods. Yes, mistakes are made when thousands are being approved by humans so if anyone sees any pics that break rules, you can help the site by reporting it so they can be re moderated

I think in time we'll be reading more complaints of guys reading profiles even less. They'll look at the wank fodder, think I can have some of that and message.

I do also feel it's going in the wrong direction. Less of the swing and more of sex/porn site. It's feeding the exhibitionists and guys may get more and more frustrated.

I did think about this yesterday, I feel in a way it will attract more people to sign up with no intention of meeting but just to swap pics and vids.

I've had my fair share of this (sharing vids, pics ect off fab in hope to build up chemistry for a meet and the person never intending on actually meeting me jsit after something for the wank bank).

There's also the profiles who sell vids elsewhere but I've seen them using fab as an inbetween. Just makes things easier now if they give "clips".

I would suggest that when you are well verified by meets that the need for photo verification be waived to be invited to upload vids ,I see the value of photo verification but surely when you have many meet verifs it sort of demonstrates you are who you say are

Well I have just put on a verification vid of sorts,for anybody to see,I can't do a voice over as well verified so people know my voice

Think it's a great idea to do an introductory vid

I won't be putting any more vids on here as think two is anough for me to tease and introduce myself

Thanks for answering. This is my concern about it though. These volunteers work incredibly hard at checking the photos, add into the mix twenty seconds of videos to watch for thousands of profiles, it’s going to increase human error surely? Not to mention the time factor involved.

My suspicion has always been that it will fill the site with videos of wanking men, together with the additional moderation burden.

Limiting the clips to 20 seconds has of course removed much of the burden.

Not forgetting of course, I won't be looking at videos of wanking men.

I still feel it's a feature that could drawn in the "wrong" audience. Making it site supporter only is a step in the right direction.

I'm still unsure, but I'm warming to the idea.

My preconceptions may have been wrong.

I think in time we'll be reading more complaints of guys reading profiles even less. They'll look at the wank fodder, think I can have some of that and message.

I do also feel it's going in the wrong direction. Less of the swing and more of sex/porn site. It's feeding the exhibitionists and guys may get more and more frustrated.

I agree, worse thing is, how secure is it?

I use to do private videos years ago but I avoid it now as the chap I use to play with sold my (by recording) cam and videos online and now I don’t do cam or video as I cannot trust people.

Yes I shouldn’t take one bad experience to a degree but you should trust people who you are playing/swinging with.

So when I saw the video option on fab, I felt a fear of dread and can see it may cause trust issues etc.

Just hope fab is secure enough so the videos don’t get leaks for those that enjoy doing videos etc.

And this is a Swingers site not a porn site, but if you prefer to show all your goodies to the site by all means do, may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

It isn’t secure. You can copy and share these videos just like the photos which most of us upload.

Pic mods normally ask to become mods, I am sure if gets too much for them they will ask to be removed.

Mistakes happen, as long as they are rectified when seen/ reported then it should be OK

People who say you don’t have to upload or watch have completely missed the point of why people, like myself, don’t like the feature. We are bright enough to know we don’t have to upload or watch.

No it’s not. Not watching them isn’t a solution because the issue is greater than that. It is turning the site into a porn site in my opinion. Now there’s an expectation from people that you will be uploading something.

It’s also not safe. People may be uploading but are they considering where it’s going to end up?

Personal choice about uploading but as far as having them on here, I feel it’s a mistake to do it.

you obviously dislike the new video feature and that is perfectly fine but there is a lot of us who believe it's a good idea and just what this site is lacking , I personally am fully aware of the implications of uploading vids on here or any other media but it's my risk and my choice when I get the facility I will be uploading vids ,if people don't want to watch them then that's fine with me

I (Hev) have 2 videos on my single profile, for friends only.They only show a bit of boob and pussy though. You can also have them in private, just the same as photos are. I think it's a good idea, I,ve seen a couple of good clips people have uploaded. It's better than fake porn x

Yes, video-capture and sharing has been an issue.

My thoughts are that, unlike pics,where you have tineye etc to check them, vids can be from anywhere, I'm not aware of a process where Joe bloggs can verify them. So anyone can rip a clip from anywhere, (including Fab) and claim it as their own.
