Silhouettes have grown exponentially since lock down, 90% we assume are fake and are filtered from emailing us, but they can still view us. Can we have a filter please to block non photo verified & silhouettes from viewing our profile, it’s getting to rediculous levels now! |

It’s supposed to be a swingers dating site not a shop window. Also it’s a one way window when looking back at a silhouette, also not asking for all to be blocked, only to have the choice, so if you wish to advertise without selling, then you still can |

The site has always allowed all users to be viewed by everyone, unless a profile is hidden or has blocks. I think it's been core Fab strategy. Certainly message filters help to prevent the undesirables from making contact and they are probably the best we'll have |

I have all men blocked from messaging but they can still view my profile regardless of what their avatar looks like.
I don't understand the issue. If you go into a shop for a particular item you have to accept there will be other products on sale and if you are selling your product in someone else's shop window you can't really pick and choose who you want to look at it. |

That depends what your selling & again only asking for a choice, we very much limit what we are selling as too many anonymous buyers & collectors. Definitely not asking to be mandatory & don’t forget you only see the silhouettes who allow you too, lots more you can’t. |

If I went to a swingers club I'd expect to see the people who were looking at me, not a load of human shapes hidden under black cloaks. Seems a bit strange that this is acceptable on here.
I suppose it's down to what you are using the site for really.
If you want to create a fake account and perv at all the photos with no intention of meeting anyone then it's perfect for that.
Whilst we aren't particularly bothered about lurkers watching us having an option of blocking all the people who can't be arsed would certainly deter the fakes, or at least encourage them to put a bit more effort in.
Does make you wonder why fab wouldn't see this as a benefit for their membership. |

Now that Fab includes videos on profiles, it's likely to be going to attract people who want to see and maybe collect videos of amateurs . They might be anywhere in the world, of course. Whilst lots of porn exists out there, this niche is certainly popular. |

It's a tricky balancing act.
You want to site to be popular but if it's filled with fakes then eventually this will drive the real people away. Certainly feels like all we currently deal with at the moment is fakes. |

Why is everyone so stressed about who can and can't see them.
Yes you can filter who messages you but everyone on the site can see you. If you don't want them to be seen don't post the pics or videos. Keep them to friends only or only send them to people who you want them to go to.
The privacy options are there for you to use as you want to. |

This has to be one of the most absurd threads. I really don't see what the issue is.
It's like being an upstanding citizen walking down the street but asking the law to ensure that anyone who walks past me isn't wearing a hoodie. |

I'd say it's more like being stood naked in Cap d'Agde whilst a load of people who aren't interested in swinging are looking over the walls and flying drones over taking photos!
I'm comfortable with the exhibitionism, that isn't the issue but if too many people are here purely to perv and not to play then it makes it harder to navigate and there's a lot of potential to waste time talking to people who are only here for the photos. |

This is exactly the point in the thread, it’s to give privacy choices .. again not mandating it
Clearly single guys don’t get it in the same way as they jump to sending messages without reading profiles… pic obsessed |

So why are you requesting more than is already there? You want to block certain groups seeing your profile, my point is the options are already there. Keep your pics to friends only and then you don't have to worry about who can see what. |

Saying that but we did try turning the filters of to engage with the silhouettes on holiday in Benidorm whilst there and out of twenty exchanges twenty were time wasters or fakes, so proves a point really. |

I understand the OP's thought process.
But given there's already a filter to stop people with no public profile photos deom messaging, that's easy to circumvent, how do they propose it works?
A profile could upload one single image of their hand or foot (perfectly within the rules) in order to view images on the OP's profile.
How would that be any different from a silhouette profile viewing them. 🤔 |

Well... They'd have to upload a photo wouldn't they so some would fail at that!
On another site I use if you don't engage for a while your account effectively gets locked out.
So how about you can have a silhouette for a month and if you don't upload a profile photo then your account gets locked until you upload a verification photo and ask a moderator to unlock it.
I'm sure that will get rid of plenty of time wasters who CBA getting photo verified.
To be fair though keeping all the sillouetted time wasters in one place does make the rest of the swinging community much easier to navigate.
It doesn't do much to help the credibility of Fabswingers though, with all the fake picture collector accounts, but I suppose they are doing ok or they'd alter things around here. |

Ok one last chance to explain, it’s just about making it easier to filter quickly to the genuine people who actually meet & we’ve been very lucky over the extensive years on the site in doing that, by seeing who is near, who has looked at us and who has liked us, but now all you see is silhouettes and it wastes time energy and loses interest to search for the good ones. Yes they could always work round it but that would still flag up if not photo verified, there will never be a single solution but defence in depth with multiple filter options just makes life easier or like it used to be when there less silhouettes around…. Simples ! |

It's been an interesting discussion but the reality is the Online Safety Act is being introduced this summer.
Owners of websites that contain adult content are being held responsible for preventing children accessing them.
This means people accessing the adult site will need to prove their age before they are allowed to see any content.
You will be able to do this a number of ways including:-
Uploading your credit card details, passport, driving licence, uploading a facial video via a webcam...
Seeing as Fabswingers is UK based for UK customers I don't see how having a VPN will help you avoid doing this.
If you are patient I'm sure all the 'ghosts' will disappear very soon |
