Too many messages

I frequently see couples and particularly single female profiles with a status update saying they have hundreds of messages which are unread and it will be some time before they work through them.

I think this could be rectified by having a time limit on unread messages.

Would it provide a more interesting and engaging experience for everyone if the messages expired after 7 or 10 days.

From what I have learned many women just go to their email box and spend hours going through messages - seems like a total waste of everyone’s time.

What do you think?

I think people should be allowed to manage their inbox as they choose.

Yes some get hundreds, but they could, if they choose, reduce that via message filters. They could even block incoming mail and send their own to those that catch their eye.

I know plenty of people who get three figures of messages every time they upload a photo. But it takes a heartbeat to delete all the one word 'hi' messages.

I'm sure people would be as equally likely to complain if they had no messages as much as a full inbox. 🤷‍♂️

I just straight delete any messages that are too far away or I don't like the profile photo/text, it takes seconds.

Sometimes men get arsey about it and send a shitty message but I just block/counter block them.

I’m sure we all appreciate the volume of messages Ladies and Couples receive -Something I would like and it might help reduce the number of messages especially repeats - Would be to have a button that would indicate message has been read and then deleted as opposed to quite possibly deleted in a mass delete - ie Read - Deleted - Read & Deleted - Then you would at least know it’s been seen / I know this would still be a challenge for the number of messages some people receive - But just a thought

There and Here

All of these suggestions to help women deal with message volume seem to me to be more about guys wanting their messages seen and dealt with rather than the easiest fix of all...just accept that no reply is a reply 🤷‍♀️

I agree with your comment if I know the message has been seen

But there is.

When your message is read there's a line through it in your sent box to show you

Yes There is a line to show read

Yes There is a line to show deleted

But not a line to show if read and deleted - So no way of telling if it’s been read or deleted in a mass delete

I thought I made that observation clear and acknowledged that it was unlikely system could cope - It was just an observation on a topic in the site observation forum - I’ll leave it at that now as it was just as I said a observation.

Wherever

I see bragging about an avalanche of unread messages as an equivalent of sky remote dick pictures, “hey, look at me being desirable/attractive”.

It’s really not that hard to manage the inbox, with tools already widely available.

If that was aimed at me - Who was bragging and who said anything about an avalanche - I certainly only send the occasional new message 2/3 a month max to profiles I think I might match - and I don’t have sky !! But I guess no one agrees with my comment which of course was all it was on a threat about feedback - Which is fine as like everything on the site it’s everyone to their own

I'm completely confused. It's the same thing, the line means both

But I too will leave it at that as I see from your posts your writing is quite hostile

No idea, I'm lost. Damn Sat nav!

Most who are receiving hundreds of emails daily are obviously not using their filters.

The site gives you the tools for a reason but for many they either don't know about them or choose to ignore them .

We're not new to logging in to a lot of messages. Yes, it takes time to filter and reply/delete/block and all that. We use the filters to try and stop messages from those who we don't want to hear from. It is what it is, people would then moan they have no messages 🤷‍♀️

I can honestly say that in 8 years here I've yet to chat to any woman who spends hours going through their mailbox.

If anything the complete opposite is true.

As already said, message numbers are easily controlled by filters.

Usually anyone posting a status about the high volume of unread messages they have are using that as a measuring stick to show how popular they are.

I've always avoided anyone posting a status like that, not because I'm afraid my message would get lost but mainly because I've no wish to join their fanclub.

Bulk delete is a great tool... If through the preview snippet they seem competent then I'll message that individual directly.. usually bulk delete does the trick because I promise you it's less than 5% of messages that are profile read relevant.

And it's not a flex or a brag.. it's actually pretty sad that theirs that many people on here truly incapable of reading comprehension simply because they think with their dicks in hand.. they'd actually probably get more positive results and positive responses listening to the MANY women in here saying exactly what we want and dislike.

Yup totally a waste of time! Who could be arsed?

I use message filters, don't post public photos, and rarely post a status.

Tend to if I get any messages get quality messages.

Rarely ever get a dick photo sent.

Plus the fact I have I only meet at social events maybe puts folk off but I can't be bothered wasting my time with ping pong messages or fab guess who.

Works for me!
