Hello to all you singletons,
Myself and a fellow fabber are looking to organise a social, nothing is set in stone as of yet.
Before going ahead, we'd like to know what the thoughts amongst you are and who would be interested in attending.
Ideas so far if we do go ahead with this is for it to be held in the Bridgend area with a buffet provided for those that attend with a small fee to cover buffet and the possible venue costs.
We see this as an opportunity for the single folk, new and old to mingle and make new friends.
All ideas and feedback are welcomed, thank you. |

"I’d certainly be interested, I’ve noticed a few socials are limiting numbers of single males in particular "
And that's fair that they do, I've seen a lot of socials advertised but not one for singles so thought this may be a good idea. |

There used to be a singles social in Newport. It went really well, but you never knew who would actually turn up.
Some times there would be an even number of men to women, other times it was lots of guys. We even had one or two occasions that it was mainly females
Give it a go, see what happens |

"Go for it... I've just created one in Eastleigh, just make sure you create a guest list
Would you invite little olde me? "
Bit far to travel isn’t it? I’ve done here to Hull, even said sorry to the man statue in the train station when I bumped into it! It’s over 6 hours on the train. |

Spot on.
And after organising these the only thing I would say is do not limited the single guys as most won't turn up.
The one night I had around 60 guys who never showed nor did they let me know which is so annoying when you have a room to pay for that you have hired.
Good luck & I hope it works for you |

"I’ve heard social gatherings can turn into a sausage fest which is fine by me but would like it to be a fairly even amount of men and women. "
In over years of socials I've only ever been to one that was a sausage fest, the single males rarely turn up |

Get the 6 nations out the way then we can do a proper count of how many would be interested.
Venues are around the £100 mark which ain’t that much really between say 20 people for example. Some people want a buffet some don’t. I personally do cos then it will look like it’s a proper function (to the owners of the venue) music and a bar will be in the venue so it will just be like a normal little party. |

As there seems to be a lot of interest being shown perhaps posting a completely new entry with the date and times would be a way forward, Stella and Henry. |

"What's the date for this social "
There's no date yet as it's still to be arranged, the purpose of this thread was to find out what interest there was for a social of this sort. |
