Generally our hotlist gets profiles added to as a notification to each other that we may have found people of interest.
Sometimes we both agree on the profile and we might make contact, othertimes the profile will be removed if each of us dont feel the same way in relation to making contact.

It depends what you are using it for.
My hot list is used for those I have a potential interest in (currently 2 on there).
Friends list is for those I have met and keep in touch with, and for them to keep in touch with me |

This is very much how we use the hotlist, currently 8 on it so when we're back to being active( hopefully not too far away) we'll know where to look first |
