We are new to the lifestyle and attending our first social in a vanilla setting this week and feeling quite nervous of what to expect and what info to share or not share with others when asked eg. name, occupation etc... any hints or tips would be appreciated. Thanks |

Relax. Be yourselves. Don't be afraid to approach people to talk to. Remember we were all new once too, they really won't bite. Only divulge what you feel comfortable telling, if you don't want to tell some one details just say I'd rather not discuss we keep it private and people should be fine and be respectful. Hope you enjoy xx |

Depends what you're happy to share, I know some users use play names but we find this too complex so we stick to first names and real occupations but sometimes a little less descriptive with our location. The first one will be the worst nerves wise but it will be worth it

It is just like going to the pub with a load of mates. Ok all these mates have a certain kink in the lifestyle. To talk to them you wouldn't even know because they are all normal people just like you.
Our very first social was the bridgend one. Never looked back.
Talk to people as you wish to be spoken to. Only say divulge what you feel comfortable with.
Speak to people mingle same as you would at a vanilla party.
Miss Hollie and I are going and we will love to speak to you as much as we love talking to the fabbers that go.
Dont worry all new once. |

Just treat it like a party, be yourself and enjoy only give the information you feel happy with and I doubt if you are as nervous as I was on my first social, I will say you will enjoy and make friends it's a great way to meet like-minded people that are genuine.
You will look back and wonder what all the fuss was about, just go and have a fantastic time, good luck. |

Just think of it as meeting a bunch of like minded people down the pub
Which is what is
Not a lot of the conversation is actually about swinging, well, Ok, it is, but you're not going to be shouting it from the roof ![](/icons/s/redface.gif) |
