I just feel stuck right now, and when I turn to someone for help they either say: “it’ll pass”, or man up. I got some social anxiety which doesn’t help at all. I just feel so lost right now. |

If anyone ever tells you to 'man up', tell them to get in the bin, chum.
I would talk to someone. There's numbers available to reach professionals, anonymously. Do a little googling, depending on your particular situation which I won't intrude on here.
Keep it easy my friend. |

Please see your doctor. Anxiety and depression are not trivial and no amount of ‘manning up’ cures them. If you won’t see a doctor then look at 5htp (from somewhere reputable like Holland and Barrett) as it’s a serotonin booster. A doctor is your best bet though. And never listen to an asshat that thinks you can man up your way out of depression. |

I was the same until I seen the doc, after a chat knowing there is help there it's now OK.
Don't bottle it up and no need to man up, I'm 6ft big guy and I broke down crying when I really needed help.
You won't be judged by anyone for seeking help xx |

So many options these days. I work in mental health. First thing is to do is go and see your doctor. He/she will signpost you from there. Ask for help and you'll get it, and I know it's sometimes hard to ask but it's worth it. |

Absolutely Excercise!
Without going into too much detail I was mentally unwell 18 months ago. Did the usual anti depressants etc and just didn't get any better. Then a friend got me out of bed pre 6am every morning and made me bloody power walk everywhere! Apart from it getting you out of bed (which is all I did and makes you feel worse) it sets you up for the day, you've had a chat about your feelings said hello to dozens of people along the way and your getting fitter so effectively feeling much better! I talk to alot of guys (and girls) about mental health now as I don't find it such a taboo subject but excersice definitely helped me. Join a gym, a running club, tennis what ever puts you in a group of people and gets you out of your box! I also deactivated my social media and kept contact with a handful of close friends which again forces you to interact the old fashioned way and actually talk to people! I'll never tell you to man up but it does get better.
My therapist made me write down 3 reasons my I matter, 3 things I had to do the day after and 3 reasons that make my happy....thought it was shit at 1st but I actually still do it without writing it down! |

hi mate
its different for everyone. first off seek professional help and be open to what they suggest.
exercise releases endorphins so that'll give you a boost.
social anxiety is crap. I've helped a few friends out with this.
I got them to talk to anyone. people in queues etc.
a good one is talk to shop staff. ask female staff for advice. goto a clothes shop and ask them what they think looks good on you.
people love giving advice, it's a good way to get familiar with chatting to strangers
take care |
