As established in various threads in this section, we all live in Wales in a beautiful country.

So when you drive around Wales, what's your favourite drives, sections of road that for some reason inspire you..

Start off ill give 4 (in no particular order of preference)

1. Section of road between mold and Denbigh aligned with cherry blossom trees when in full bloom.

2. Nant y garth pass between Wrexham and ruthin on a winters night after a heavy snow fall with a full moon.

3 aberglssyn pass between Beddgelert and tremadog

4. Mawddech estuary between Dolgellau and Barmouth, or indeed Barmouth and Dolgellau..

What's yours..

1. Aberglaslyn Pass in winter especially after a storm when river in full flow

2. Road from Rhiw to Aberdaron when gull islands and the coast come into view

3. Nant Peris pass especially when driving down from Pen y Pass

4. A5 from Capel Curig towards Dyffryn Ogwen in winter

The Evo Triangle. Having driven it, I can understand why it is a great road test route.

Crossing The Flintshire Bridge. The bridge doesn't break any world records, but nevertheless is an impressive sight especially at night. Good enough for Ford to use it in one of their commercials.

Marine Drive around the Great Orme.

The single track road which runs from Cunninghams in Betws-y-Coed, through the forest and eventually joins the A5 at the side of The Ugly House. With at stop off at the small car park which is marked as "Ty'n Lwynn Walking Trail" on Google maps. Absolutely stunning view with a complete feeling of isolation and remoteness.

The road between Llanrwst and Conwy, passing through Trefriw and Dolgarrog.

The road between Capel Curig and Pen y Pass with its many long laybys and stunning views with Snowdon as a backdrop. This stretch of road has featu_ed on more than one advertisement for motor vehicles and with good reason. Chomping on a Yorkie Bar whilst driving this road is the law.

And of course, Pen y Pass itself, right through to Llanberis and beyond.

Then there is Sychnant Pass and the road which passes the Moel Famau car parks.

That is just a few for starters. There are many, many hund_eds more!

I'm stuck in traffic there most days - I'd never call it a lovely bit of road.

Used to take a bike along the A40 before the days of speed cameras. Great mix of fast straights & twisty bits.

I regularly travel between Wiltshire & Carmarthenshire which obviously means the M4. Think I know every yard of it like an old friend. On occasions if I'm not in a hurry I take a more scenic route via the M48 across the old bridge to Chepstow, then via Shirenewton,Usk,Abergaveny & onto the A40 at Brecon. Does take over an hour longer than the M4 on a good day,but the scenary is stunning.

Mine has to be the A458 from Shrewsbury to mallwyd, before veering left towards Mach and then right at aberangell to go through the forestry. Not scenic in any way really, and a bugger if you're stuck behind anything, but it's my road home!

For scenic reasons it's hard to beat the road from Mach over Dylife to Staylittle!

Mach loop depends on the weather. Only fly Monday to Friday. Best place for viewing is the big layby half way down tallylyn pass and climb the hill to where you will be level or above the aircraft.

"Anywhere on the A55 "

My first thought was "boring bastard" but when I thought about it.......

The bit near Holywell where you get a stunning view across to the Wirral, Liverpool and Blackpool.

The spooky Dobshill.

The drop down Rhuallt Hill.

The Marble Church.

The way in which the A55 passes temptingly close to dogging locations such as Pensarn and Llanddulas.

The Conwy Tunnel and the proper tunnels where it's the law to beep.

The fact that the A55 is _educed to a single lane for the Menai Crossing - so that the traveller is forced to slow down so that he can enjoy the wonderful scenery.

The A55, perhaps the most beautiful motorway which isn't a motorway, but should be.

Interesting to note the current political crisis may have an effect on the a55...

The reason for its original upgrade from the 1970s was that when Ireland along side with ourselves joining the EEC, there was an EEC directive that all capitals should be connected by a minimum of dual carriageway...

So with us coming out (whenever) would there be less impetus to maintain a55 than at the present moment..

Anyway in reverse travelling south on a55 when on Anglesey and you get that fantastic skyline of the snowdonian mountains...

That sounds great - can’t beat a bit of “why the hell have I come down here and how am I going to get out”?!

I was walking off the mountains near Croesor the other day and opened a gate for some Dutch tourists. They were exploring a seriously remote road and loving it. Looked right out over Cardigan Bay and Porthmadog.

Drove the Porthmadog - Caernarfon road for the first time in ages too. Stunning views looking back at the mountains (Cnicht etc).
