I think it's because there is still so much stigma around bi men even from the LGBT community. I have faced quite a bit, although I notice there does tend to be less negativity and hostility in larger cities and the type of culture you are involved with.
I have dealt with quite a lot hostility and negativity in Neath and Swansea. However in places like Cardiff and London nobody really cares, and I have often found women who enjoy and encourage it. The same goes for mainstream culture there is often a negative stigma from people, but much less so in alternative culture like the metal community.
It has taken me years to openly be comfortable with being bi, and you do need a thick skin. But one thing that has always driven me nuts is men who say they are straight or bi curious yet they have either had a lot of oral with men or full on sex. The other thing that drives me nuts is guys who sleep with crossdressers or pre-op transgirls and say they are straight.
Anyway waffling aside, you have to learn to be comfortable with your own sexuality, don't hide it from others at least not on here or in relationships. All that does is continue to keep the stigma alive about bi men.

Why not cut the lad a bit of slack? Most people here take the term straight with a pinch of salt, hence the term fab straight.
