Well have to be honest this time last year we were in the same situation as you. We had been members for 2 months and decided to attend a social. We called in at a pub near the venue more for some dutch courage and a group passed us and we reconised the male of the couple from his profile pic and collared hold of him and said hi. From that moment his wife came over and the friends they were with too all introduced and we then headed to the social with them. Felt quite daunting but they were fabulous company and as they were well known the went out of their way to introduce us around and before you knew it we were mingling and meeting and have never looked back. Something I would definately recommend is get out and meet if people don't see you how can you expect to meet
Good luck ! |

We've been to loads, but I still remember our first. We were told the venue and time, so, with nerves jangling, we headed there.
Luckily for us, a single fem who we had bumped into at our first party was there with a large group as we walked in, so that helped a great deal, as we got introduced, and recognised some of the names as people we had been chatting to in the chatroom.
There have been loads of newbies who have arrived at socials, who didnt know anyone at the start of the night, but have left with a load of new friends by the end of the night.
As for what goes on, think of it as a night out with a large group of friends, we drink, some (mainly the ladies!) dance, we chat, we get introduced to friends of friends, and have a laugh. Simples. |

"i thought chams and stuff hosted the social events? im slightly confused now lol!"
Nope, the socials are organised by anyone who takes it on.
I think you might be confused about what a social is.
Chameleons etc are swinging clubs, where people go to swing. It is true that you can attend a club and not play, its not compulsory, some do go just to hang out and socialise, but most go to meet like-minded people and have fun.
A Social is a gathering of swingers, but the idea is to meet up, chat, have a laugh, make friends, socialise with old friends, put faces to names, and maybe organise some fun for another time, perhaps in the privacy of their home or hotel room right after the social lol!
Socials are usually organised in pubs or normal clubs, so no swinging is allowed, lets face it, would you shag on the bar of your local? lol.
There are socials that are organised in swinging clubs, its rare, but it happens, in which case theres no restriction on playing in the venue.
The socials are advertised in the Welsh forums, any FAB member can put their names down, the only restrictions are that of numbers as each venue has a maximum occupancy limit for things like fire regulations etc.
Hope this helps. |

"Are these the only restrictions on attending the socials Mart ? "
Apart from previous trouble-makers being banned bubbs, and as far as I am aware only one person has been banned.
There is a rule now being considered that anyone who puts there name down and doesnt turn up without letting the organisers know may not get on the list next time, as its unfair to those who couldnt get on the list if there is space due to dropouts. |

Quite a few sites have club nights which are held at various swingers clubs across the uk. We've been to some at club xtasia, the f club and arousal, they have all been great nights for us but wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea because we all have diffferent preferences.
The sdc night at xtasia is couples only as are quite a few of the others. It works for us because we don't attend socials with single guys there but many on here (or at least the regulars that attend the fan socials) like having single men there.
If you look around the club sites I'm sure you'll find something that suits you x |
