Hi all i am hoping to go to Skomer Island to photograph Puffins and was wondering if any else has been and would i need my telephoto lens .
i would be camping for about a week at tything barn |

Skomer is incredible. Theres so many birds to see and puffins are so close you have to be careful not to step on them. To view the birds on the cliffs around the Island we had our Binoculars and we saw amazing sights. Takes a few hours to walk around it but its incredible. It was a dream to be able to go there. The most incredible part was the boat ride as I got to see one of my favourite birds the Gannett. Think I saw Razor bills and Gilimots too. Loads of Greater black back gulls about too. Wish I could have stayed longer. Can't wait to go back. XX |

I will go back but hubby and I are massive bird and wildlife spotters so we go together. Its only day trips though as we have family but thankyou x |

WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre is a Brilliant place to see birds from all over the world. I prefer walking further outside the sanctuary though as I get to see loads of wild birds. Its free if you are a member .
Newport RSPB is another amazing place. Think it was a Hen harrier I saw there . Sorry but im a right bird geek lol. Its one of my favourite hobbies in the world x |
