Walking Social

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

A friend on Fab was telling me about something they do in Ireland

Fab members meet up to go walking in the hills and mountains for a social meet up you have privacy to chat and we would just look like another walking group to anyone we passed not to mention the enjoyment of being in the great outdoors with a great group of people

I am a mountain instructor and have my ML and MIA qualifications so you will be in safe hands with plenty of walks to cater to all fitness levels and the rule is we always keep the pace of the slowest walker

If anyone is interested post on the thread as I don’t get messages off men and I will get back to you couples, women can message me directly or on the thread also

I'd be very interested too. I walk in Snowdonia once a week, usually solo, but would love some mixed sex company for a change.

High heels and a wig aren't really ideal mountain wear Just kidding but as a TV I would feel a little uncomfortable with this in this context. Also I would be concerned about my body odour at the end of the day, I tend to sweat if during a strenuous days walking in the hills.

Am I being negative, no not at all I think it's a great idea, but not maybe for me

No worries Chrissy it’s not for everyone but nobody should worry about smelling like a wet sock it’s par for the course when you are out on the mountains for the day

Definitely not a good idea to wear a wig and heels your wig would blow off and you would break an ankle

It's one of those funny things, in any other circumstances I'd be more than happy to but in this context I would feel very uncomfortable without the finery Funny lot us TVs

We can do Snowdon around Easter time but try to avoid the Easter weekend far too busy

Winter is hot and miss in Wales but plenty of walks were snow wouldn’t be an issue I was thinking Tal y Fan for the first one Snowdonia’s smallest mountain and lots of points of interest

I think there was walks in the Beacons do by Fabbers years ago. It’s not impossible something similar could happen.

Although LJ in Snowdonia based, I don’t think he sees it as being the only place for walking socials

Personally, I’d avoid doing it from the Storey Arms if it’s the weekend or bank holiday. It’s rammed there.

Much nicer to go from south or the north. It’ll still be very busy up on top though.

I think there are much nicer walks elsewhere in Beacons if I’m honest.

No problems.

Those other routes also avoid the parking issues at Storey Arms - there’s cars everywhere.

Someone in reasonable shape can do those other routes fine.
