I know that women do get a raw deal on here from rude, offensive and sometimes even downright potentially dangerous men. It shouldn’t happen but it does and online can be a sad reflection of real life. But from my experience as a man on here over the course of my 3 year membership, I’ve had the full suite of strange and rude behaviour. From receiving winks and messages then a straight block before I can do anything to respond, through receiving a message, replying politely and positively only to be ignored and then blocked, to getting friends requests, accepting then later being blocked, to knowing (or thinking you know!) someone, chatting to them, meeting them, providing a very positive veri (and receiving one back) only to later have your veri deleted and to be blocked when to your knowledge you’ve done nothing to provoke it. I’m not an idiot, I get that the ratio of men to women on here is massively out of balance and women get bombarded with crap but my experience of Fab has got me to the point where I don’t even want to bother trying to contact people on here... now I’m probably accused of just being a ‘pic collector’ so you can’t win haha! IMO people originally come to Fab to meet likeminded people but unfortunately we discover there are many narrow minded rude people who treat others very poorly. I find it’s like when some people get behind a wheel of a car, when online, they become a different person with a huge ego that they’d never display in real life face to face. |
