Gelert! I was talking to a couple a few years ago who'd been on holiday in North Wales and visited Beddgelert but they Couldn't remember the name of the dog!!!!

I think the queen's last Welsh corgi has sadly died.

I too visited Bethgellert.

I think we visited an old tree under which the hound was buried.. maybe my memory playing tricks

The queen's last corgi was a Pembroke called Susan

You've also probably not heard of Gwyllgi, the Welsh equivalent of the hound of the baskervilles.

He's said to be as large as a Mastiff, with black fur and spectral red eyes, with a malodorous breath

The Queens first corgi was called Susan. Given to her by her father on her 18th birthday.

Every corgi she has had since is descended for Susan
