That’s a very hard thing to do without motivation. I guess it depends on how important it is to you. Do you have any friends who go already you could go with, or maybe try something else, football, running club, swimming? The thought of the gym bores me rigid but I happily go walking/hiking with mates.

Do what suits you better and doesn’t seem forced.

Well the main thing I enjoy thats physically challaging is blacksmithing, but that always ends up making me starving from the heat and energy burnt up. But I have put on a lot of weight lately (I am now 13 stone) and wish to lose it as it doesnt hang on my body well as fat

I lost 5 stone in 10 months through healthy eating and training 5 times a week, the thing that keeps me motivated the most was looking at old pics of me when I used to be fat and knowing that I never want to look like that again.

If you aren't happy with what you see in the mirror that should be your motivation to kick start you....then use the positive changes you make to your body to inspire you to never go back

It's tuff without a goal. Set yourself one and get in a routine. Tone up in no time

Well done both exploring different ways to exercise and more importantly improve the mind. I have difficulty motivating myself to do exercise on my own, such as long distance running. But I love classes like circuit's when a trainer motivate me and others around me. Plus it's a good way of making new friends. Visit your local leisure centre and try not to be intimidated, remember everyone is in the same boat and I'm sure people who attend classes will welcome you.

Try crossfit, there's one in Llantrisant. It's tough but different every night. There's also a great community with it.

Enter something, nothing lights a fire under your arse more than an approaching event but have a plan with small achievable milestones.

Gym classes are always good as the PTs will push you if you want. Pure gym do about 50 classes a week if not more and you make them as hard or as easy as you like. You do need a good diet as well as exercise to really get a result. Don't go mad small changes first, cut out the rubbish and start walking more just to begin with. Good luck...plus once you start to notice the difference you'll want to keep it up.
