First time at chams

I am going to chams for the first time with my male friend. I have no idea what to expect. Also a little nervous. Any one who has been could you give me some idea on what its like  |

It is like a dungeon  when u get in u gonna have some towels and a locker. U decide if u only have your towel around or something sexy. Ground floor has a hot tub and a sauna then its some showers and rooms to play. Also a bar u can have a drink if u need alcohol bring your own cos they not allowed to sell u any. Second floor is smoking area more room to play and another sauna. Third floor is all about kinky staff. It is overwhelming for first time but it is a lush place. We are going there this friday see u there. Have fun enjoy yourself |

Had the same I was parked next to chams but I don't know why I couldn't break fear barrier.
I wait to have conversation with someone from chams guests then should be easier, but I don't know anyone from swingers.  |

I think it's all down to expectations.
If you expect to be romanced by lots of Anthony Joshua lookalikes and be romanced then you'll be disappointed. But there will be attractive men and women there.
Expect to feel nervous going in, its just normal the first time.
When you've got changed, go to the bar first and you will see normal Ladies and Gentleman who look normal just like yourself. Get yourself a drink and i'm sure some of the friendly people will probably come and talk to you. There just normal and won't be looking to pounce on you lol.
Nothing will be expected of you and you don't have to do anything you don't feel comfortable with, it can all be quite mellow once you get over the first time nerves.
When you've got over the shock of going in and realising its quite alright, go and have a look around the place (it is a bit of a maze, as mentioned, as its an old building). If its early you might find just people chatting around the place. Otherwise you'll get to see and hear people playing, theres a bit of a group room on the first floor and also a room with a glass window for couples only.....but you can let out the voyeur in you and watch through the glass if you like.
When you've seen what others are up to you will feel more comfortable about joining in yourself, if you want to. There's plenty of lockable rooms that you and your +1 could use should you wish.
Finally, there might well be some single men there who really don't know about eticate (spelt wrong lol) and might just follow you around the building, just tell them to stop doing it. There will also be some single men there who a nice and will chat to you. If someone suggests playing and you don't fancy it, just give them a polite 'thanks but no thanks' or something of that ilk.
Most of all enjoy yourself. |

Just my opinion but there are far better clubs about, however that involves traveling a fair distance, it's a shame as out of the four I've been too it's easily the worst but by a cruel twist of fate the closest

That's cool no disrespect taken, I've been to chams a quite a few times and it's fine and ok but in my opinion out of the others I've traveled to to would rank 4th of the 4 I have been to simply that.
I can only simply assume that you haven't been to any others, trust me it's a big old beautiful swinging world out there over the bridge.

Some love chams, some hate chams.
But you can't say it's the best club around as there are far better clubs in my experience.
And are worth travelling for.

Agreed 100%, in our humble opinion chams could/should be one of the best clubs in the country but in our eyes it falls short for various reasons.
There are some superb clubs about and plenty more for us to visit. |

I felt the same first time but really no need to be anxious! There is no pressure to play which is what I worried about. People have always been friendly the times I've been. Relax as from what I've seen nobody judges and are just there for a good time xxx |

After all the difference in opinions, did you have a good time ?
We love cams in Newport and support it whenever we can as we have had some of our best nights there but agree with some of the others that if you ever get the chance to experience other clubs out there you will have some amazing nights. |

I like both clubs for different reasons, as a single female I enjoy the familiarity of Newport, I'm happy to go alone & do my own thing, dipping in n out of social chat etc. But Darlaston is where we prefer to go as a couple, there's more action & it's a better vibe & surroundings for us. Each club has its own things to offer & there's no reason why we need to stick to just one. Try them for yourselves & see what fits for you X |

I haven’t been to Chams yet, as it’s a 2 hour drive from here in Pembrokeshire and been told there’s no guarantee of admission for single guys on arrival, depending on the night. Correct me if I’ve heard wrongly though.
One day I hope to get there though, not expecting anything more to happen than to socialise and chat, anything more than that would be a bonus, even if it’s just allowed to watch without involvement, although obviously that would be a welcomed opportunity with the right couple or group or person.
Whilst not familiar with Chams, I have been to the same venue over the years when it’s run as the Greenhouse for gay and bi men. Not a frequent visitor but enough to know the layout of the place and appreciate that it’s just not down the facilities which the venue provide, it’s more down to the people who go and the attitude they have whilst there. I’m sure it’s the same on a Chams night too. I’ve been to the greenhouse when it’s been really busy and then disappear as soon as a buffet has been put out and eaten and I’ve been there when it’s only been two or three of us, until it was just me! In all scenarios, I would have rated the place as either good or bad, because of the other people there, not because of the venue.
So, I’m looking forward to a Chams night too, rating it purely on my personal experience and interaction with others, knowing that the next time will be a different experience again, all because of those who attend each time.
