I would have to say that it depended on what it was for, certain things I believe people should be hung for so I wouldn't want to associate with them in anyway. |

Precisely what I was thinking. Can get criminal records and go to prison for trivial(ish) things, like non payment of council tax for example. For something more serious like “forcing yourself on someone without consent” (couldn’t use the normal 4 letter word for that) then no chance would I be interested |

"Would you think that a criminal record would need to be disclosed on here then?
If so what kind of things do u think need to be disclosed?"
How would you prove either way? |

That’s the trouble. How can you make sure someone isn’t hiding something?? Scary if you think about it too much |

I know there's a guy on here from my town that has been done for stalking and harrassing a woman he met online. So being on fab seems like a disaster waiting to happen. Nothing can be done about it though |

Completely agree. Each case in its own merits |

I think, as most people have said, charges depending, but also, their verifications/friends speak a thousand words.. if the ‘criminal’ have long standing friends on fab that have known their convictions and have still chosen to trust them knowing what they’ve known about them and taken the time to get to know them and remain friends (I’m not talking random fab people, I’m talking people I maybe know enough to trust).. that for me, would also go a long Way xx |

"Things like Clare’s Law are useful for this. Though I’m not sure how that would work in a fab situation.
It applies here as some fabsters know X"
I just meant I don’t know the ins and outs of how the law works. If you need to be in a relationship with a person, as from what I can gather, the police investigate to see if the information needs to be shared and then shares it with the person who is vulnerable not necessarily the person who asks.
Plus as someone else says, it depends if they’re caught/charged.
For me personally it would depend on the charge, I have close family who have been in jail due to drug related things. That doesn’t bother me. Murder or sexual assault, would concern me. I know a group of lads who were jailed for “armed robbery” because they was stupid and on drugs, no one was hurt in the process. Hearing the charge would probably put people off, the story matters sometimes. |
